Where can I buy a game controller for my android smartphone & tablet? I want to buy it in local stores so I live in Brisbane.

What phone/tablet are you using it with? I'd recommend something like the X360 wired one, which works well over USB (otg) on my android devices (Nexus 7 and Xperia Z2).

Wow I didn't know console controllers could work on smartphones/tablets. My phone is compact xperia z3 and my tablet is samsung tab s2.
That phone should work natively with a PS4 controller.
you can also remote play ps4 games on your z3 as well.

Depends also on the types of games you are playing. I'm playing mostly emulators/mame and use an icade for iPad, can also use a wiimote. On phone, I bought an impulse controller on kick starter which I use mostly on my phone (motog). Good because very portable (kept it in the car, played if I was early for school pick ups), but can just buy a China ripoff - maybe compatibility issues depending on what game you are playing. Just noted that these are all Bluetooth connected.
Maybe best to see what you have lying around, and maybe they can be used as a gamepad?
If your smartphone/Tablet is a Sony, you can use PS3 controllers.
