  • How about price in aud n store name in title.

  • +1

What's the RRP of this phone in yuan?

    • +2

      RMB2699 = ~AUD558

      • +1

Yeah this "deal" seems expensive as hell.

      • Cheers~ At that price, I'd say it's a steal…but nooooo.

  • +1

Also state its Mi5 Pro which is different to Mi5

  • -1

That's bloody expensive for a chinese phone.

    • +1

      As opposed to?

      • +1

        other similar specced chinese phones?

        • -1

Wow Samsung s7 is a blatant rip off if you think this is bloody expensive.

        • +1

@OnlinePred: There are some key features in S7 are missed in this Xiaomi including ip68 rating for water resistance and a QHD display. Yeah I know it does not an USB Type C port but you get compatibility with GALAXY VR for having a normal USB port.

People always get the best hardware from Samsung for money.

"AnTuTu Benchmarks for Mi5 Pro have beaten the LG G5 and Galaxy S7. "

Well… I don't really think there are any other similarly specced Chinese phones - this phone is the duck's nuts for sure

        • +1

@Droz: "One of the reasons why the Xiaomi Mi 5 has scored such a high score on AnTuTu benchmarks is that it is packed with a 5.15-inch screen that supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels whereas its rivals support Quad HD resolution displays."

There is Letv Le Max Pro which is similarly speced and it isa LOT cheaper than this Xiaomi

Actually the CEO of the company recently accused Xiaomi of being "overpriced"

        • @motor89:

Oh yeah, I remember reading about Letv recently! I wonder if acquiring ownership of one of these puppies is difficult… and if the actual ownership is a headache or not.

TBF, the Letv you linked is last year's 810 vs the Xiaomi's latest-and-greatest 820 Snapdragon, but I'll be pretty keen to see what else they bring out.

If there's CyanogenMod compatability for either of these Chinese phones at some point, and if the camera is any good, it could be worth shelling out. Otherwise, I'm going to see what new Nexus phones will be around the corner.

Thanks for reminding me about the Letv!

        • @motor89: Just have to put up with the software :-S

    30th of April really?

I'm sure the price would have dropped by then…

Edit: banggood is also cheaper at $706.84 AUD and cashrewards available too.

  • No way I'm paying this much money for XiaoMi, I rather buy Xperia Z5 for this price!

    • Yea ripping us off because they can is not fun. Once we pay close to RRP it will be better. Xperia are nice phones this time around with prices that suit!

  • +1

Don't buy this phone for more than A$200 because China warranty is as bad as no warranty!

  • +1

I know I would get downvotes for saying this, but that's far too expensive for "Xiaomi". I like their phones under $250.

  • +1

    $200 mark up isn't really a deal…

  • +1

Xiaomi want to become Apple of China. That's why the price is very expensive. Wait for a month and you will see the price slowly drop.

    • +1

I agree but ugh I gotta keep distracting myself for a month or two to not remember about this phone.

  • Thinking to go with the 64GB version which is same processor speed but 3GB RAM, any other notable differences here?

Different back finish, underclocked s820, less ram n storage.
High price is due to high demand and not enough supply atm, also we aussies pay premium for everything coupled with horrendous exchange. Front scanner is pathetic, inconvenient as hell and reduce the screen size

  • +1

    cheaper here
