How to Create Privacy in The Living Room?

Hi everyone,

I am looking to convert the living room temporarily for a couple of months as parents would be coming in.
The idea is to put some sort of privacy barrier to convert it into a room.

I have thought of curtains, or perhaps foldable room dividers. Just looking for the best and most economic idea if anyone has experience in the matter.

Inside the enclosed space, there would be a double/queen bed and a clothes drawer.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I would suggest blockout curtains from Ikea on a bar fastened by 3M hooks. It's cheap and temporary.

You can buy a couple of billy bookcase from Ikea which you are using it as storage after they left and it is cheap to put up you may need 2-3.

    • That's an interesting idea. In my case though, I won't have much or any use of of the bookcases in the future, but thanks for the idea!

Get a few snuggies from the local op shop - cheapest way i reckon. probably best to wash the snuggies first - you never know what went on under there

Or perhaps the pop up beach shelter on the front page is an option

    • Haha I'm imagining each parent lounging in their own sun shelter in the living room while the tv is on and calling it a day.

  • Whenever my parents come to stay I just put them up in the cubby house In our backyard.

  • Depending on the size of your living room etc. You can get tension rod from Daiso and put on some curtains
