  • 6600Ks all gone =(

Nice deals but I think I'll stick to my 3770K. My brother's 2600K is also still running strong. I can't justify in ever upgrading in this class of CPUs. CPUs are just not scaling in performance anymore so I won't budge until they release something that can be really called an 'upgrade'.

But it'll save you electricity bill. ^_^

  • Well well well, why couldn't this come up a month before when I bought the 6700k for $450??????

    Good find OP.

  • nice find OP… i have been wanting to purchase a gaming pc for a while now but have no knowledge on how to build PCs so was looking at this from PCCG: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/34732/pccg-nightmare-980…

now this sale has me wondering if it is worthwhile to source similar parts myself and then pay for someone to put it together… is there a service out there?

There are some shops offering built-to-order computer. One example I can think of is Umart.

If you don't have a concrete idea of what components is the best (or good value for money). You can post a request-for-comment into the forum stating your budget, the usage of the PC, … . There'll be lots of Ozbarginers happy to give you comments.

      Edit:

I found a thread on Whirlpool may shed some light on it, though it's a bit dated.

If you are new to picking parts I suggest starting here as a guide:

Switch to Australia in top right of the table.

  • This is helping me keep costs down on a new PC I'm building … i5-6500 bought. (The other gaming rig I have, and am leaving with my ex for the kid to use at her place, is running a 4670K… I have never overclocked it, ever. So I'm skipping the K series this time)

Now I just need the rest of the rig!

  • Delivery is $26 to WA :(

  • Ahhh, missed out on the 6600k…hope they restock.
