GTX 960 2GB from $224, R9 380 2GB from $215, GTX 980 from $565, R9 390X from $497 & More @ MSY

670

Appears to be models they're trying to clear out, as they're no longer listed on the PDF. Most only seems to be in low amounts of stock in VIC and NSW.

GTX 980 Ti $856
GTX 980 $565
GTX 980 $582
R9 390X $497
R9 380 2GB $215
R9 380 2GB $228
GTX 960 2GB $224
GTX 960 2GB ITX $210 (PROBABLY NOT GONNA FIND ANY STOCK)
R7 370 2GB $162

Decent cards to pair with all your recent cheap hardware purchases (like those CPU's from Kogan)

Quick FAQ:
- 2GB of VRAM for the R9 380/GTX 960 should be enough for 1080p gaming in most titles, and these cards don't have enough grunt to run above that resolution anyhow
- GTX 960 performs 5-10% worse than the R9 380 whilst consuming less electricity
- Might be a good idea to wait for Pascal/Polaris before purchasing a high end card at the moment

Ooh nice. That probably means next gens are coming out soon.

Tip: For stock numbers, go to http://msy.com.au/Parts and click on your nearest store -"1.pdf" (as of 18/3).
Personally, I am probably going to wait until a few VR games are out and decide what card I will need.

Thanks. Being a good OzBargainer I surf a few waves back from the latest and greatest to save money. And the games are much cheaper and have all the DLC too.

I was adding the GPU's to the cart to see their online stock level, this is what they currently have at 1:50am.
    GTX 980 Ti = 1 in stock
GTX 980 triple fan = 3 in stock
    GTX 980 Phantom = 5 in stock.

  • Sapphire 8GB R9 390X TRI-X OC PCI-E VGA Card

only two of these but at $497 there will still be two of them next week

all other AMD is gone but there's no accounting for taste i guess

    • Are you saying this is a bad price, or is there something wrong with this particular brand/model? This seems to be about the same price as the non-x models from what I can find, and about $70 cheaper than other x models.

  • I'm always too late to the 980ti deals

PLE have 10% off everything tomorrow(Saturday). So you could get a 908ti for only a little bit more.

      • MSY still have two 980TIs in stock. Let's be real, they are $856. Few people are going to drop that like its nothing.

          I paid 1170 for mine 😞

      • bummer it was not on the cpu's

  • That asus 960 is famous for being louder than thunder anyway.

No Gtx 970 which is much better performance than 960 and better 'value' than 980.

Thanks, ordered a R9 380. Should keep my PC going a bit longer!

  • R9 380 and GTX 960 out of stock…

That 980Ti price makes it hard to wait for Pascal, dang. Thanks for posting though mate.

  • What's the best card I can get for 550W psu?

    • You should be able to support a 980Ti, but it also depends on what other kit you have in your machine.

If you want to be extra sure, pop your build into pcpartpicker.com and find out what your total power load is.

      • I have i7-2600K OC 4.2GHz, 16GB 1866Mhz, 1xSSD+1xSHDD. I checked a few techpowerup reviews, the peak usage of 980ti can be almost 300W while on average is 250W. Should I be worried about peak or average?

        • i have a 3930k @ 4.4 ghz with a G1 GTX 970 at stock.
my PSU is a massively underpowered Zalman 460 APS which claims 77% efficency at max load.

running CPU benchmarks I'm pulling ~550w from the wall. note it is rated at 130w TDP.
when i try to run GPU benchamrks the system crashes. its quoted as 170w.

i'm intending to upgrade to a 850w gold or platinum efficency PSU before pushing for higher overclocks.

all that said i run the system for gaming like this and have never had a crash except when trying to benchmark.

edit: the most important question is, who made your "550w" PSU? if its a SHAW 550W i wouldnt trust it for 300W. if its a Seasonic 550W its likely good for 600W+

        • @antikythera: Thanks mate. Just checked, PSU is actually Antec NeoECO 520C. From its website, it guarantees 520W of continuous power. Any chance for 980ti or 980?

    • What's the output of the 12V rail on your PSU?

The total wattage is a meaningless number because it can be inflated by uselessly large capacity on the 5V rail.

      • Sorry mate, dont understand what rail is lol

I've just checked, my PSU is actually Antec NeoECO 520C. From its website, it guarantees 520W of continuous power.

Any good for 980ti or 980?

        thanks

  • Too bad that aren't reference design. None of those high-end models would fit in my Mini-ITX box :(

  • I need the gtx 970 for my preordered oculus rift

  • +2

thanks op, I'll keep holding back until gtx970 drops to sub $300

    • Yeah I'm with you. Been eyeing to replace the 570 for a while but can't justify the price. Though that 980 looks nice……. New cards out in April/May (apparantly.)

    • I think it wont be less than $300 in this year

  • +2

2gb, kinda pointless really, highly recommend 4gb to get any proper graphics at a higher resolution

    • I concur, even at 1080p 3GB is essential these days with newer titles. 2GB just doesn't cut it anymore.

  • feelsbadman bought the 380 4gb for 277 but + good find

  • Thanks, bought a Gainward Phantom 980 for $576 delivered to the ACT. The prices have dropped $30 overnight.

  • i brought 1 of these gainwood 980, i think these are refurbished units.

Box was all sealed and everything even antistatic bag was seal with yellow sticker. Must been resealed by gainwood RC.

But board had some heat paste marks on the side and PCIex had insertion marks which mean been inserted into slot before.
