Let's see if sample will come.
Good timing as ban on topical antibiotics acne medication.

    • What? Since when?

      • -1

Last year. Eryacne is off PBS. Epiduo sux on thy face - not antibiotics. anyone can share experience what to use?

You see a dermatologist and they tell you instead of reading shit off the internet?

        • Have a read of Aztec Indian healing clay. The reviews are pretty good. I bought it online and have tried it twice. Going to use it a few more times to see how the results are.

To me bumps/pimples come due to irritation
e.g. for me when I shave my face I can get little bumps on those areas, My solution: shaving cream + use BHA after
e.g. sleeping on your face at night…all that hair oil mixing in with your face ewww

How I see it is think of it like this if you ever put sports tape on your skin and leave it too long it goes all red, rashy, itchy and bumps come out so it should be the same with the face……irritation=pimples, acne.org has a fully built regimen that goes into this.

PM me if you want more info about this and what I use…you could say I've tried almost everything out there (off the shelf i,e, non prescribed stuff)

Eryacne has been discontinued by the manufacturer. That's why it's 'off the PBS list'.
And if an item is not on or has been removed from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme list just means its price is no longer taxpayer subsidised, not that it is banned from sale..

        • @irate: not happy Jane so wrote to company and complaint. reply as "…This was a global decision from our company and is due to antibiotic resistance throughout the world due to the extensive use of topical antibiotics, such as those found in Eryacne. ..This information was sent to all doctors and pharmacies in 2013 and a subsequent notice was sent in 2014…" You are correct, not a ban…but GP cannot offer an equivalent script so basically abandoned.

        • @thorton82: did see a specialist. suggested Accutane but I do like the side effect. Eryacne worked.

        • @eatwell365: Does the company have a replacement product? I can't use Benzoyl Peroxide either (contained in Epiduo) as it gives me a terrible rash.

        • @tanoshiiki:
Thank you for asking and that is the reason I got the sh*t and made a medical complaint so should be filed to TGA,

        • @tanoshiiki
I had been busy. instead of my normal GP, thought it did not matter for a script and walked in a medical centre I passed.

The xyz doctor could not find Eryacne on the drug list of his computer. Dr did not know why. I ran next door to chemist and asked while dr was waiting, chemist told Eryacne was discontinued. I asked for medicine of its kind and doctor wrote a script on Epiduo (same company as Eryacne). Dr told me to use Epiduo which had double action instead of one and replace Eryacne. Being careful, asked the dispensing chemist the same question which reply was one action to open pores and the other action to kill germs (which leads me to believe it is the new Eryacne. Once applied, I was expecting the reaction was similar to Eryacne which dried the skin and the acne quickly subdued. Face became red and swollen. More pimples were formed (which I thought was the effect of pores opening). Face became oily and caused embarrassment.
The Epiduo is a totally different treatment for acne, it is not antibiotics. Contains benzoyl peroxide for which I found out I had reaction too.

Think others should know as well so made a medical complaint. The communication with GP, chemist and patients are inadequate, while the company still tries to streamline product line and discontinue the non profitable line.

        • @eatwell365: Contact Heisenberg. I heard he is exporting special tropical creams in 44 gallon drums in chicken vans.

        • @shooting_stars000: Um … OK.

Why is "address line 2" a required field on their form? I just put my street number in 1 and then street name in 2

    • +1

Yeah kinda weird, I just put a space in and it worked ok

    • Address line 2: pimple town

I've tried a sample of their oil free cream before, and it seemed to work well.
