well. they only got the final price for this thing like early this week
+1 for effort, though it was put up on Monday. Had a feeling 2nd shipment was coming as I had the EB link bookmarked and noticed they changed it to second shipment before they took it down early March. (Love Google cache)
You can preorder at both stores, and with a june shipment as well it suggests it wont be that limited.
If the deals are being based on what ebay prices will be for something most likely everything will become a deal in comparison to high ebay prices.
I think in light of what has occurred in the US where they where overwhelmed with orders and could not fulfill all of the orders this is really great news. I do think its limited and watch as these units get snapped up (many by scalpers I am sure as you mentioned) but to me I am happy to pay this price and not the stupid price it would go for soon.
This is a fantastic deal, you will not get it at RRP anywhere else. CIB Fire Emblem never drops in value. Wii Fire Emblem is over $100. Gamecube Fire Emblem starts at $200 these days for a second hand copy. Pre-orders in the US as starting at $360AUD ish right now. This is a very valid bargain right now.
After checking eBay, I have to agree. And I thought the Pokemon 2DS scalping prices were bad!
FE:Fates is actually three separate games, with two available in stores (RRP$60). You can then buy the other two games as DLC ($30 each). So if you are sure you're going to buy all three games you get the special edition with an art book for an extra $9.
I think it's a shitty business model, especially since maps are reused in the games, but thats the explanation what is a very high price for a 3DS game.

Possible? Yes. Likely? No.
Buy it at EB, if it comes up cheaper at these other retailers (which I'm assuming is why you're asking), then just cancel your preorder and get you're money back.

short answer, yes. Fire emblem doesnt go down in value. Have a look at fire emblem stuff on ebay now.
The game comes in 3 variations (Birthright, Conquest and Revelation), which are each technically full games. This special edition has all 3 on 1 card. Otherwise you need to buy Birthright or Conquest ($60) and purchase the other 2 as DLC ($30 each). So it's only another $10 And you get a steel case, art book and poster and depending on when this gets delivered, you may have early access to the Revelation storyline.
I'd rather the steelbook case than the N3DSXL cloth pouch that's included for the US release of the FE:Fates SE.
