  May want to check it can decode the newer mpg4 channels. My father has one of these a year old and it can't do the HE-AAC audio.

      The manual for his says the same, but Mpeg4 is just the video stream. The audio layer on the new SD Mpge4 channels is HEAACv2, which is not supported by quite a lot of generic brand sets. On the HD Mpeg4 channels it's AC3, which is widely supported.
