How Can I Promote a Sale on OZB?

On Wednesday I posted a deal for our upcoming easter long weekend sale, and I'm not sure how I can garner the same interest as people show for the stuff that's always upvoted and appears on the home page.

Considering we're going to annoy a lot of retailers with our pricing, I feel like we could be helping a lot of people looking to renovate their bathrooms, but they just aren't aware, and I want to get the word out so they can grab the bargains while they're available.

If you know anyone looking to renovate, or are currently doing so, let them know so I can help them save some moolah. We don't have to list it on the store to be able to help them out either.

Also, if anyone has general questions about bathroom renovations, just let me know :)

  • What you're selling is completely different to what's on the front page. Most of the front page deals consist of food and technology.

There is never much furniture or other related stuff on the front page or even Ozbargain itself. For example, a lot of people can make use of a new external hard drive, but very few would be actively renovating their bathroom.

Not many people care for toilets, baths, and similar items… It's not that it's a bad deal.. People lack interest.

I feel this forum is mainly food and impulse items, lots of technology and gadgets

Strangely price isn't the critical thing with this stuff, it's more needing it when they do. plus every man and his dog imports cheap bathroom goods.

I'd like to add, I don't know any of the brands on your website? I work in the building industry and not heard of any? People here like a quality brand, to compare pricing and to see if it's an actual deal. If it was a Caroma dunny that's a popular model, it may generate more interest.

It's the same when someone posts a deal on a Chinese yumcha brand android tablet, it's cheap but no one really cares

      • Having unknown brands also makes it easier for them to not have to honour this guarantee:

If you can find a cheaper price elsewhere, let us know and WE WILL BEAT IT!

To be honest, ever since Caroma started to focus on getting into the US market, their quality, and overall care for Australian customers has gone down the proverbial crapper. Not to bash them of course, but they're not the market leader they used to be.

If you want any item from Caroma, check this website out: http://www.gwapricelist.com.au/

We can supply anything from Caroma. The reason I don't have their products listed is that their stock availability can fluctuate wildly, and ETA on backordered items can blowout from a couple of days or weeks, to months.

The brands we have listed are those that are on the ball with being able to provide items quickly, at a good price point, and while not sacrificing quality to do it.

Besides some of the retailer exclusives, we can practically provide anything. You just need to ask :)

        Cross promotion selling?

Buy a Toilet, get a new Video card! lol

I wish I could do this haha

  • I have a bathroom that I am going to be renovating on the next month or two. Why would I buy stuff from you when I have a Bunnings 10 minutes away?

I'm not saying I wouldn't buy stuff from you but I need a reason to choose you over Bunnings.

If you take toilets as an example, if I look on your website you have 12 different toilets, if I look at the Bunnings website they have 100+ toilets. What makes your toilets better, cheaper, more convenient etc?

I've tried to limit the larger items to those that readily are available and have some differentiation in style.

Of the thousand odd options available on our website, there are thousands more available that aren't. I've probably given people too much credit that they'll ask if I can do them a deal on something they've seen elsewhere.

Main reason I could give is the personalised service. I take care of EVERYTHING customer service related. Taking the order, processing the order, helping with questions, you name it, I do it.

If I was to stroke my ego a bit, I take pride in bot being slack when it comes to helping with any problems. If it happens, I'll get it sorted. It's not a big deal to fix a problem, but a lot of people seem to struggle with anything that makes them go outside their comfort zone. I get the most satisfaction from resolving issues. In the words of Christopher Pyne: "I'm a fixer!"

    • Gonna give the man a plug. Personalised service is top notch.

With regards to any other supply store vs Bunnings…
Bunnings do not stock absolutely everything. Some people do not want to get stuff easily available at Bunnings, especially when they want it to be a feature of the house.

In addition, it not always price / value for money for some. Online Bathroom Ware was able to give me a better price on taps that looked pretty darn similar to what my wife had chosen. I was happy, but ultimately she has final say on looks. Can't always argue price and win.

  • Good timing op.
I am about to do bathroom reno.
I had a quick look only not much diff compare to Master ir bunnings. But will check again later.

    • I can do all the Caroma (Dorf, etc.) stuff as well, but the other brands like Brewers, Mondella, etc. are exclusives to them, so they sell them dirt cheap.

I can't vouch for their quality, but if you want the best stuff I can provide some 'prestige' brand items if you need it :)

Don't forget, if it's not listed, just ask, and I'll see what I can do for you.

    • The 30% off that Online Bathroom Ware has provided blows the competitors out of the water.

We have access to "trade" prices from TradeLink and Online Bathroom Ware came out cheaper with their current offer.

  • As mentioned already in one form or another, your products are suited to people at a particular stage. ie Building and Renovations (and Replacement/Repairs)
So the target audience is already limited.

I have also found that the people who do renovate, tend to keep this to themselves until after it is done.
Alternatively I just don't listen to them because it does not affect me and I couldn't care less.

That being said, I am one who is at that stage right now and your timing could not be better.
I was able to get on your earlier bargain with a small sale to trial/test your company out.
I discovered exception service at an exception price. I consider myself very lucky and more than happy to pimp you out.

  • I hope everyone had a great Easter.

Don't forget our 25% off sale ends tonight, so get in before the bargains are gone!
We stock Caroma, and many other brands as well, so don't think you're limited by what's listed.

If you contact us tonight and we don't respond before the sale ends, we'll still honour sale prices tomorrow.
