Well you might be pleasantly surprised in knowing that although rice are is edible, some brands of rice are so incompatible with normal cooking methods that you'd rather eat it raw.

No debate there, and I'm sure you have proper evidence to prove that Basmati Rice "is the best rice available in the world", but my point was that some brands of rice (no reference to types) are considerably different from others, even though they might all be marketed as Basmati Rice.
