That's happened to me before. The cards can take up to 24 hours to activate after purchase, so just try again a little later.

It's been 3x24 hours and still does not work with the same message. I guess I have to return it back to Woolies.
Did you get the activation receipt when you bought the gift card? (It prints out after the itemised receipt). Take that back in with you if you do - while staff can bring up the transaction, pin codes and serial numbers for credit and gift cards are usually blanked out in the system so staff can't use them.
@agentsmith: I used self service check out and just checked the receipt and can't see activation receipt. I might have to take it back to woolies or call netflix customer service to investigate the issue. Thanks for your help.
No worries - the activation receipt usually comes out about 5-10 seconds later. In all honesty you're probably better off ringing the Netflix helpline or going on live chat. Woolies will ring the company who issues the things and that usually takes a while.
So has anyone been able to buy two $50 cards plus use the barcode from the catalogue and get $30 back? Or is the max $20? If so I'd guess they are only allowing one $10 Netflix bonus per transaction, in which case perhaps people can split into two $100 transactions with one Netflix card in each and groceries/Opal top up for the other $50?
I tried buying a third party giftcard and it did not award the $10ww even though I scanned a registered edr cards and the barcode on the front page of the catalogue. Even with a food purchase included it didn't work.
Worked for me. 2 x $50 Netflix + barcade. Checkout chicks cash register showed $30 rewards being applied.
It seems that Netflix redemeed giftcard value doesn't show up immediately in our account? That's a bit annoying.

For those who also have the emailed targeted offer this week linked to rewards card of $15 off $50 shop (previous weeks were $10 off $40 and $5 off $30) - purchased $50 netflix card and couple other small things and the $15 came off $50 and received the $10 rewards.
I just bought the $50 one and tried to put the PIN and received this message "The code you entered may have been entered incorrectly or has already been used. Please try again." Does anyone got the same message?
