  • Any idea if these work on OS netflix accounts? Normally I woukd think so, but My Optus 3mth free netflix voucher worked on my Canadian netflix a/c.

    • +3

All Netflix accounts can work on any region, just depends where you login from. Any code will work on any Netflix account

      • So how does this voucher work, it's $20, so I get $cdn20 credit?
That's be nice as I'm paying ~$au9/mth already, so with 5% wihscards & woolies funny money, it'd be quite cheap.

      • thanks for the info

    • +2

As i remember, you can log in and top up your Canada Netflix account on AU Netflix website. Once you have done, when you go back to your Canada Account on Canada Website, your account should be updated as same as on AU website. That's what i have done with my US account

      • Hasn't worked for me an my US Netflix account. Gives me an error when I try to submit the gift card number.

        • Did you have AU gift card? If yes, please try

1 - login to your Netflix account on AU Netflix website
2 - Redeem your gift card (it should work) otherwise, i dont know :(
3 - Turn on your VPN to US or using DNS from Getflix or anything like this to give you access to US Netflix Website
4 - login again on Netflix US website, your account should be updated now :)

        • @kendo:
Yep that's what I tried doing.
Says an error occurred try again later. Perhaps it's because I'm paying in Usd normally and I have $95usd credit already in the account from the optus deal. Funny how the optus codes worked but this one doesnt. Any way I can get Netflix to convert my account into an Aussie one? I still use getflix for US access.

        • @julz:
Did you end up getting it working?
I am getting the same error.
The only other thing I haven't tried was as suggested here: http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2015/06/ask-lh-can-i-switch-my-…

        • @xilften: nah not working for me. I read the FAQ and it says you can use gift cards from overseas provided that it is in the same currency. I'm just going to wait until my existing credit in USD runs out and then change my account over.

  • my 6 months free netflix is due to expire soon. good timing.

dont forget to use the Dan Murphy AMEX deal as described in OP

      • the only giftcard i can find is "dan murphy" gift card. they can be used as wish card?

        • +1

according to the older DM deal as per comments, yes https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/232892

        • +1

oh yeah the Dan e-card is a wishcard

        • @supabrudda: Just to be clear. To take advantage of this deal. I have to buy Dan Murphy "Digital Gift Cards" online with my AMEX and then use the/these gift cards to buy the Netflix gift cards at Woolworths?

        • @bluechan:

          precisely

Give me real money not that crap Woolworths dollars

    • +1

you can use the WW dollars to buy groceries , that's why i recommended the $50 card

      • Yep I know but I can't support the WW system it's not good at all.

Other than that seems a good deal for WW shoppers.

        • i think ww's online shopping system is way better than coles'. i dont often do online grocery shopping though, i live in sydney. ww and coles are everywhere.

best value for netflix is still to pay with discounted itunes cards my last lot were purchased at 25% off previous to that at 50% off

    • Has to be cards or can be iTunes credit?

    • Where did u get 50% off itunes card? Biggest i've seen so far is 25% off.

Officeworks RRP itunes card is always 20% off face value if anyone havent noticed.

how to use itune cards to pay for netflix?

      • +1

If your account is set up to be billed through credit card then cancel it and then create an account through iTunes.
iTunes will then start to bill you through any existing credit.

        • thanks. i cant change the payment method in my current netflix account?

        • +1

          @alwayseric:

Yeah, you can only set up a new account through Apple TV to pay by iTunes. And if you change out you can't change back either.

        • +1

@zzyss: You can change at any time - you just need to let your subscription expire first. Then you re-subscribe (can use the same account) but on the platform you want to be billed through (eg. web for cr card, Apple TV for iTunes).

You can also do this to change billing location, eg. let a US account expire, then re-subscribe using same details from Aus Netflix to be charged in A$ instead of US$.

And unlike Hulu and others, the plans cost the same through iTunes.

        • @Linkwick:

          Thanks for the tip!

Best value I seen was buying those $15 phones that included 3 months Netflix voucher codes.

      • I thought they were $12.50! :)

        • On second thought, perhaps they were $14.50. Meh!

  • +4

Still prefer buying the regularly 20%+ discounted iTunes cards for Netflix subscriptions. Real $$$ savings too instead of trying to accumulate woolworth dollars.

    • +1

If you buy the $50 Netflix, then you can spend the $10 right away.

      • +1

Yea still worse than real cash then. You're right, that would be ideal, but that would only be if you're buying the $50 one. Otherwise for any of the other ones you really will have to accumulate.

    • +1

How do I redeem iTunes credit as Netflix credit?

    • Yea agreed. Real cash is always better but I guess Woolies Dollars for a lot of us is not too far off being real cash. I imagine it would suck for tourists who come here for a week and see those orange tags thinking they're gonna get $2 off lol

  • +1

Also want to add, if you purchase two $50 netflix cards, scan the barcode on the front of the catalogue and get an extra $10 of WW dollars. so a 30% discount theoretically.

    • Thanks. Added to OP and title

    • "scan the barcode on the front of the catalogue" - what catalogue are you referring to?

    • +3

Present this barcode on the catalogue and scan your Woolworths Rewards card when you spend $100* or more in a single transaction in-store at a Woolworths Supermarket (excluding Tasmania) or Woolworths Metro store between Wednesday 30th March 2016 and Tuesday 5th April 2016 to earn

If iTunes cards are considered gift cards, wouldn’t Netflix be as well? So no using the barcode with the deal?

      • I used this deal last time (although it was a $10 discount not WW dollars) to buy Everyday Gift cards. $100 in gift card, then any normal item and I got $10 discount. From memory it was $100 gift card and a drink and the discount worked. This deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/218288

        • You can even buy a kitkat $1, the code still worked for me last time.

  • +1

    When does the barcode expire?

  • +1

Is this barcode valid with $100 opal recharge ?

    • Want to know too…

    • I'd say it would come under the "travel cards and tickets" listed as exclusions in the T&Cs

  • +2

    "2 X $50 Netflix cards for $80 + $20 WW rewards"

The barcode gives $10 off, so it should be "2 Netflix card for $90 + $20 WW rewards".
    Or am I missing something?

    • Or not even that, you still have to spend $100 actual cash (2 x $50) to get $30 in Woolworths Dollars?

  • +3

Hi guys, forgive my ignorance, can someone tell me how to use these? So I am paying 11.99 Netflix a month which comes out of my credit card. If I buy a 50 Netflix card then I can add that 50 dollar credit to my Netflix account online and my credit card won't be charged until the 50 bucks have been used? Is that correct? Can I put 2 or 3 times 50 bucks into my Netflix account? Thanks for your help.

    • Yep that's exactly how it works. You can load up with as much credit as you want. I have $100 ish from the optus deals from last year still in my account.

      • Cool, thanks. So I need to have 30 dollars worth of groceries, ask for 2 Netflix 50 cards, and show the Barcode, then they will charge me 100 dollars? Do the Ww dollars have to be used at the same time or do they stay on my Wollies card to be spent later? Thanks very much.

        • the gift cards don't count towards the $100 qualifying spend, so you would be charged $130 and receive $ww20 on your rewards card (from the Netflix offer) for use on any future transaction that you choose.

        • @agentsmith:

Gift cards have counted to the $100 in the past. As per my other post I did it in the last deal, $100 in gift card, plus a drink and got $10 back. Guess we will find if it works again.

        • @snuke:

T&C's says gift cards are excluded but it does depend on how it's been coded in the POS system

        • @agentsmith:
Gift Cards were excluded last time too, hence me adding one normal item to trick it into working.

Their last exclusion.(excludes purchases on smoking/tobacco products, gift cards, recharges, WOW Connect, tickets (bus, train, state based travel cards such as Opal etc)

        • @snuke: I have not been able to get it to work since December and if I recall there has been a couple of similar offers since that have been no go for giftcards.

Although I remember a few times before December it also didn't work so anything is possible with WOW.

  • How many times can you use that barcode for $10 off 100 spend? Is it once per account and they track it per Woolies Rewards account?

Could have used a bit for Flight Centre gift cards for example

    • chill posted the T&C up there. Gift cards are excluded. And it states 'Single Use Only'.

  • Ah ok cool - missed that

It's a shame as Woolies Rewards probably does provide them with a way to check what you actually buy vs AMEX offers for example.

  • So this is the best way to get Netflix? So upset I missed out on the Optus deals.

    • +3

Don't bother. Netflix is cracking down hard on geounblockers. All the good content are on other regions. Getflix has been down for over a week, UnblockUS is gone altogether I believe and it's not getting any better.

      • +4

        Sadly this is true.

Uflix have also moved away from smart DNS to a proxy, which takes away the previous great convenience.

Also lol at Getflix pumping up their subscriptions with lifetime plans, they knew Netflix will eventually crack down.

        • Yea signed up to Getflix. Only use I have is their VPN.

      • Alot of regions on getflix are down when I tried about a week ago but switch to "USA Test server" on the Getflix app or their website and it will work on USA Netflix at least.

        • USA Test Server doesn't work on the Xbox One unfortunately. And I want the Canada content. It's been 10 days. I don't think Getflix is going to have a solution.

        • @Dagmar: Have you blocked Google DNS at the router? Think that app was one of them that were updated to use Google's DNS & ignore the one in the device/router.

If you block those requests at the router, (as with Aussie28 below) that should hopefully fix it.

      • Getflix is working fine for me

        • Same for me, I just had to change over to USA Test server, I sent them an email when It stopped working last friday and got an email how to re setup within 10 minutes and it worked fine.

        • @aussie28: 1. Remove Getflix DNS on the said device(s)
          2. add 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4 to its DNS settings
          3. Turn off the device for 5 minutes
          4. Re-setup the said device and the instructions are located at https://www.getflix.com.au/setup/overview
(NOTE: please use these DNS IPs, Primary: 54.252.183.5, Secondary: 168.1.79.229)
          5. turn off the device for another 5 minutes
          6. Please make sure to activate your IP address on your Getflix Dashboard age
          7. Please log in to your Getflix account, navigate to your Regions page, https://www.getflix.com.au/manage/regions under Netflix please select
United States (TEST), click Update then restart your device
          8. Lastly, please log out of your Netflix account on your device, log back in and try to access Netflix app

        • Same, Getflix is working fine for me as of yesterday. I haven't made any changes for sometime too!

      • Getflix is still working for me. O.o

  • Great deal for Netflix but I still have over $470USD credit from the old Optus deal.

    • 4 years basically worth of net flix?

  • OP your word makes me very confused. If I buy 2 of 50 Netflix vouchers, I have to pay $100 with my money and then in my everyreward card it will have $30 as a bonus credit, am I right?

In addition to OP post, you would go online and buy $100 woolworths voucher for only $95, that will make more benefit out of them

    • +1

Pay with $100 of gift card from somewhere like Cashrewards and you get it for just $95. The amount on your everyday reward card for your next shop would be $20 not $30. The extra $10 the OP mentioned is not valid on gift cards such as Netflix.

      • +1

if so, it can be like "buy $100 gift card for $95 and then use it to buy 2 Netflix $50 voucher to get $20 credit in your card" thing~!

  • Just been on Dan Murphy's website. It says that the DM card can be used only at DM online and DM retail stores. So I doubt that the DM ecard is a wish card unless someone can really confirm having bought this previously online and having received a wish card and then used it at woollies

  • Very confused. Could anybody please explain in steps how to get this deal. So far I have ordered online DanMurphy giftcard through CashRewards using my Amex card.

  • how many times can you buy a $50 netflix card with the one WW card to get WW dollars?

  • Odd, just bought two and only got $10 WW. Hmmm ehhhh at least there won't be a NF bill on the CCARD for a bit.

    • +1

Same thing. Catalogue says it only starts on Wed 30th March, the $10 WW I got was because of a targeted 'spend $50, get $10 WW'. Whoops. Guess I'll just have to buy a few more tomorrow!

      • Ahhhhhhhh!!! Noooooo I didn't see that either! Bummer.

  • +1

Anyone know if this deal would stack with the targeted spend $50 and get $10ww? ie. spend $100 and get $20ww. Also is it only once per card or can you do it mutiple times per EDR card?

    • Would like to know that too.

  • +1

Bought 2 x 50 netflix cards at self checkout and scanned the 10 off 100 voucher. Paid 100 and got 20 credit in edr for next purchase.

  • +1

I did it in separate transactions (2 x $50), got the first for $50, second for $40 with $10 in Woolworth dollars remaining.

So looks like you can do it either way.

  • can someone try buying 2 netflix gift cards with a $1 grocery item and see if the $10 off $100 Barcode activates. YOU should get $30 WW dollars

    • Doh i should have tried that

    • +1

I did - the $10 off $100 barcode was "saved" onto the transaction, but didn't kick in. Paid $100 in Wish giftcards (DM/Amex) :/ and $1.50 via ING Direct.
