Expensive Mitsubishi fridge that does not close evenly

My parents bought a Mitsubishi fridge (MRWX743YBRA) from Harvey Norman during Christmas sale last year. Although it was purchased at a discounted price, this fridge still cost an arm and leg. Nevertheless, we did our research on it and were happy to fork about the money for a product that can potentially last for 10 years (base on previous experiences).
However, the fridge that arrived has a crooked door. To be specific, the lower left corner and the upper left corner of the right French door projects outwards. This therefore prevents the door from closing properly.

The Mitsubishi agent attempted to fix the issue but made it even worse. He assured that the fridge has no functional issues and told us that the high-ups believe that the seals are brand new and are not soft enough, thereby causing the fridge doors to extend outwards. Once they are soft enough they would allow the doors to close evenly. I argued that it has been over 2 month but the seals are still not “soft” enough. He then told us that the higher ups are willing 1. Give us a cash rebate of $400 or 2. Replace the fridge.

We went for the latter (who the hell wants a brand new fridge that doesn’t close properly), but the replacement fridge that arrived still has the same issue!

Question to y’all: Have you ever bought a brand new product that you loved with similar (cosmetic) issues? What are my options besides getting a refund?

  • Door needs aligning but to say that the new seals aren't soft enough is a joke, seals get harder not softer as they get older.

I have needed to realign a fridge door when I replaced the seals, was all the screws holding the seals down, but a new fridge should not be like that.

    • The agent did spend 30 minutes aligning the fridge but made it even worse. I went to two HN recently and found that their display models all have similar problems.

  • Get money back. Looks like a design fault.

  • The floor is level yes? Fridges have screw feet at front you can adjust, may help to square up the fridge, and the doors

  • Get your money back and don't pay dumb amounts of money for appearances. Samsung's smart fridges are amazing
