  • This looks suited to hardcore gamers only. no way will I take advantage of this @ 22.95 a month :/

If there was a pay-per-use approach, I would be interested.

    • We do offer a Try It option which is $11.95 for 9 Days (7 days rental + 2 days postage)

  • What a great idea. It's like the postal DVD rental but you actually need more time with game. Unfortunately the pricing need tweaking. If you go through your games fast then it's value for money. Otherwise, hanging onto 1 games for 2 months would cost about the same as buying one yourself. I wonder how they deal with games that require 1 time use activation code.

  • Anyone else know if there are any other Australian game rental sites that use this Gamefly-like model? I might consider it if the price is low enough.

  • What's the minimum period to be signed up?

This could be pretty useful for work/Uni Holidays, dole bludgers, etc

    • According to what was said last time, there is no minimum/contract period. You can sign up for the first month, then opt out.

  • not bad you can also rent one game for seven days for 12 bux…

the cost does also cover the cost of postage, if you like to play for a week or so then 4/5 postage and return postages is pretty good.

as everyone else said, youd have to be a prety heave gamer though.

i rekon a better model (or a model to integrate)would be pay for your first game (eg 80 odd dollar joining fee)then have a 10-15 dollar trade in for each swap. with no time limits.

that way light users still get to use it and heavy users can use the current plans…

  • Almost a dupe…

…why not keep this one going and keep it at 60%?

  • I'm pretty positive on this - Quick Q about renting PC games. You've got games in there that are integrated with Steam (eg Napoleon, Dragon Age). I thought they were a 'one-shot' setup - ie once you install it for the first time the serial number is attached to your steam account forever, and then can't be re-registered with any other account. Is this right? If so, how do you handle multiple installs with the same serial?

    • Due to copyright legislation in Australia we are unable to offer rental on PC based games. Rental is only for Console Games - Xbox360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS.

      • Ah yes - now I see when you drill down into games there is a purchase option only :) Cheers!

  • No good for those of us in WA. Takes a week to get anything from the East so there would be a 2 week turnaround for any game.

    • Use GamePlay (www.gameplay.com.au) if you are in WA. They are Perth based, so you will get your game overnight.

  • I rather buy new and sell used.
