From my experience with gb even with tnt it takes 2 weeks +, also singapore mail system very slow.

  • I have a friend who ordered a Mi Pad 2 from these guys on my recommendation, after I successfully got one for my mom.

They waited 4 weeks then told her she had to pay an extra $15 as the price had gone up.

    • +1

But your mum's order was fine?

      • +1

Please try it out before we buy. Ozbargainers are not risk takers.

      • Yup.

I don't expect every order to have this problem.

But that it had this problem even once is not good.

      • Hah, I just figured out why you wrote that.

I regularly post on a US forum and every time I used mum I would get questions. I got sick of the questions and just started using mom. Looks like it's stuck.

    • If your friend was on Ozb I could have got it sorted. I'm happy to help anyone else out.

      • Even me, if I'm silly enough to risk it again?! :-)

        • My worst nightmare :P Yeah of course. I'm confident things have improved since then.

      • Hi Clear
are you saying if geekbuying tries to pull some shifty price increase later on you will fix this issue?
in the market for a phone..
        thanks

        • I'll definitely try and fix the issue but I can't guarantee success.

  • +1

Dang, really wanted to buy one, guess I'll keep waiting.

  • Is this one with Global Rom and Google Play Store installed?

    • Yes.

      • Why am I getting AUD 298.74 after applying the coupon code? And that is not even including TNT.

        • The AUD on Geekbuying can be different to the current exchange rate. A lot of people pay in USD with a CC like 28 Degrees as their exchange rate is very close.

        • @Clear:
Ah ok I'll pay USD then

        • @Clear:
Will they supply aussie power adaptor?

        • @arctan: It's going to be a US power adapter with an AU adapter. I recommend using an AU USB power adapter if you have one.

        • @Clear:

Can I use the Tronsmart QC with this?

        • @arctan: It doesn't support Quick Charge 2.0/3.0, but it can be charged with a Tronsmart QC charger.

        • @Clear:

Thanks Clear I just placed an order for a Silver one. Hope to get it late next week.

        • @Clear:

According to the Qualcomm list, the Redmi Note 3 does support Quick Charge 2.0
          https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list

        • @Pacbough: Different phone. This is the Redmi Note 3 Pro and supports Quick Charge 1.0 only.

        • @Clear:

Strange, the other Redmi Note 3 uses a Mediatek processor and absolutely won't have Qualcomm quick charge of any version. The Snapdragon 650 page says the processor supports quick charge 2.0 or 3.0.
          https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/650

        • @Pacbough: Yep the processor supports it but It's not "active" in the Pro.

People are saying different things on the Mi forum. Apparently it's due to Xiaomi not wanting to pay for the license.

The Nexus 5X and 6P have a processor that supports QC and LG/Google have it disabled.

        • @Clear:

Hi Clear, I cannot activate my account. I don't receive any activation email, triple checked the email account and the spelling is correct. Checked the junk folder too.

        • @Pacbough: There could be an issue with the registration system. Any chance of registering with a different email? If not I'd suggest waiting till morning.

i just bought one two weeks ago they ask me to top up another US $15.00 not happy at all, cost me almost Au$350.00

    • You paid it? Crazy … I would have refused then shown that request to whatever payment processor you used in order to get a refund if they refuse to send it.

  • +1

    Great Phone highly recommend it.
Unfortunately I had to have it as soon as it was released so I got in from Gearbest for $360 then paid $15 for that express postage, even though Gearbest have a lot of negative feedback I was very impressed with the handling and shipping time, would of been nice if I could of waited a week and got it for $50 less.
And a warning: chances are this will come with a shop rom which means you will not get official MIUI updates and its loaded with bloatware. So check and make sure to flash to latest rom available on the MIUI website.

  • I saw these are hard to dismantle and change battery unless you plan to glue it back together and be sure that you don't break the ribbon cable that connects the fingerprint scanner.

    • by the time it stops working will probably only cost $200 anyways :P

  • Code seems to be 5% off any xiaomi products.

    • It's 5% off sitewide.

Thanks got one for my dad, hope it's not too hard for him to use moving from iPhone. Else upgrade for me =D

  • tnt shipping is $2 usd..and the price is coming to 306aud

  • These guys never ship my phone. I ordered it on 14 March and the website says shipping in 2-7 days. Then after a week, I emailed them, they said it would be shipped at the end of March. I emailed them a few times in April and no response. Today, I live chat and they said they would ship it this week. I decided to get refund as I don't believe their crap any longer. The live chat guy didn't refund until I threat to complain to Paypal. They are totally not trustworthy buying from.

    • Most likely would have been a stock shortage. Xiaomi are very good at promising X amount and only sending half.

You can always send me a PM and I'll try to get issues resolved.

      • So, do you have the phone in stock or not?

        • Geekbuying have told me that there is stock currently, but there is the possibility that some orders might not be able to fulfilled.

        • @Clear:

Hmm, I ordered on 03.04.16 and my order status has been stuck on Payment Confirmed (Processing) since.

Starting to get concerned that order won't be fulfilled. I've emailed support requesting an immediate update as to whether there is stock or not and haven't received a response.

If the order isn't going to be fulfilled, I'd prefer to cancel now and buy the Nexus 5x via ebay deal ($340) recently posted instead.

Maybe file a dispute with Paypal?

        • @ethodog: Send me your order number. I'll find out what's going on.

        • @Clear:

          Have sent PM with details.

          Appreciate the help.

        • hi clear. the price comes to about $304 with the code. can you tell me how to get $293? thanks

        • @bamsegod: $293 AU came from the exchange rate when this was posted. It's always fluctuating.

        • @Clear: the price and exchange rate are very similar but the got some funny thing going on where the code actually increases the price then applied the discount. Anyways thanks for the reply

        • @bamsegod: That's because its been reduced for the next 20 hours.

  • Quick update for those that are waiting for orders to be shipped

I placed my order on the 4th of April, and customer rep informed me that it has been packed and will be shipped soon. Might have these by weeks end!

    • Tracking numbers worked - item is coming from CHINA, Shenzhen.

  • Guess its not gonna be sent to Sydney by Wednesday for my dad's birthday, guess i should try banggood next time to see if its any better.

  • Just bought 1, lets see if this arrives within 5 days?
    Thanks op.

    • That doesn't include the processing time ;)

      • How longer is the processing time?

        • Normally under a week. Stock on new Xiaomi releases are unstable though.

        • @Clear: So from time ordered to time arrived would be a bout 14 business days?

        • @macfanboy: Yeah, it should be.

        • @Clear: Thanks

    • You get lucky if they ship it in 30 days.

  • Ordered one at 20/04,let's see how it will come.
