Parking at Sydney Olympic Park

Hello! My partner and I are going to see the Socceroos play at ANZ stadium in June, the game is on a Saturday night (8pm). This is the first time we're going to Sydney Olympic Park, any idea where we can get free/cheaper parking instead of paying $25

Thanks!

You could go to the Aquatic Centre and get 4 hours free. There's free parking for paid patrons of the pool. It's been a long time since I competed, but off the top of my head I think competitors got free entry to the pool as well as free parking after showing some validation i.e. deck passes. You might be able to piggy back onto a swimming event and claim you were there.

  • Take public transport like organisers suggest? You also won't like the traffic jams entering and leaving.

    • We were planning to get PT but it would take twice as long because the options are bus then train, or 3 trains

      • Then park at a closer station and then train it in.

Drive to Lidcombe station, park there and then get the train to Olympic park (its 1 stop).

  • Or park at Newington and walk about 20 -25 minutes walk, we park there every time and walk, suggest you arrive at least 1 hour early to get a parking spot, unlimited parking there.

    • Or park at Concord West Station, same thing….nice easy walk.

      • Walking shown 37 mins from Concord West to ANZ stadium Google map, not so the same.

        • Only trying to give suggestions and be helpful. Feel free to ignore it. When I said 'same thing' I never meant it was the same amount of time, but rather that its a nice easy walk with free parking.

If you want to be pedantic about time though….if I'm walking from Concord West I wouldn't walk to the opposite corner of the stadium like your route suggests, so that takes it down to about 28 mins. Not all that much different really.

Plus you get the added benefit of walking past all the food outlets on the way. If someone in your group is hungry then you're going to need to walk the distance to Maccas or Oporto or the kebab shop anyway.

        • @bigtimmus:

My Route is actually 15 mins by google map still nearly half of 28 mins and walking not to the opposite corner of the stadium is really not 9 mins should be min or 2.

It is purely up to him and no offend just to point out the different between 2 routes.
