Our Family demolishes soda water like its going out of fashion and our recycle bin is always full but I don't know which soda stream I should get and can anyone answer the question are they cost effective and convenient versus 75c Coles soda water.

Just did rough maths for you
Get a 2-6kg gas cylider used for home brewing off guMtree with a carbonation cap Attachment.
Will also need regulator , hose and gas connect - $75 all up
Roughly $10 a kilo to fill and the cylinder itself wont lose value
Say 10g/litre to carbonate.
Thats $10 per 100 litres of water
And that would be pretty fizzy - i reckon 7g is more like it ( roughly what beer is)
