  • Ive got an unopened bottle of this (last one left over from some previous OzB deal).
I prefer the taste of spiced rum but its good value for scotch drinkers.

Hate they always change price after other stores posts better price. This time they matched 1st choice. Better buy it from 1st choice so they take some credit as well.

Yes, just 5 cents dearer to support first choice

I'm sure Dan's only do this to avoid the price matching.

Yes, they always do. It is also very annoying sometimes when the special pricing is store specific and as you don't check other stores, you never know that. Once Chivas was on special for $37 at one of their stores and I had to price match from their own website.
Dont want other stores to close down and they have monopoly of setting prices.

Poor Coles Myer. Don't want them shutting down.

Good price $39.90 was best I had seen in last 12 months.

    • think it's normally about $45

thanks OP. Gotta stock up some heavy artillery since winter is coming!

  • how low can you go? started at like $55 a bottle…

  • +2

$38 save $17 at FC. So normally $55. A good promo or normally sits aroubd $40-45.

As for Dans dropping the price to avoid the price beat, that's not really the case as they only price beat by 5c-10c anyway. They advertise that they have already beaten every advertised price, so that's what they do. It' not like officeworks, bunnings etc where it's 5-10% as the margin in liquor is so low.

    • Nah, theres this one the 12 year that sits around 45-48 and theres a 15 year dimple that sits around 55-60.

15 YO is 62 at Dans, $65 at 1C. When I posted the pricing I was looking at the save $17 ticket. The only reason the catalogue for 1C says save $10 is it's pictured with the JD 700 which is normally $48. 12yo's retail pricing for 1c, BWS, and LL is $55. Dans varies more as they actively price beat so it's regularly cheaper.

  • great..Dad's birthday gift sorted!

  • Also advertised for $38 in Liquor land Warehouse Sans Souci (not sure about other store locations).

  • Will have to grab a couple of bottles, I always preferred the 12 to the 15 to, 15 is way over priced and basically tastes the same with a little more kick (probably just due to the extra alcohol), 12 is a good easy drinker on ice/neat.

  • picked up a couple very drinkable at 45 let alone 38
