$400 for a good blender might be a bargain - i wouldn't know if this one is good, but I'm sure some people would think it is.
Just like for some people $1000 for an iPhone is a bargain - but my mum, a nokia for $50 from woolies is all she needs and anything more is "not a bargain".

$999, $699, now $399… Could be a bargain, or just an overpriced item getting a price realisation.
I bought the previous top of the line breville blender. Has been going strong for 7 years and I love it. Paid around $300 and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's been excellent
I wonder if people pay $400 for a blender while they're renting.
Yup, it will be the same people who routinely pay $1k+ for a phone, $2k for a new tablet & $60k+ for a city runabout…then complain they can't afford to get into the housing market. But of course we know it's all the baby boomers' fault. ;)
What does it matter if someone is renting? You can buy a $100 POS blender or you can buy a much sturdier ~$500 blender. If you want a blender you should buy one that lasts. Can't comment on Breville Blenders though.
I'm renting, just moved out. Going to say $400 is a bit much on a student budget.
