Dimmi - Half Price Dining Dragoncello, Surry Hills and Ceru, Potts Point [SYD]

60

Got an email from Dimmi with two half price food offers for Sydney.

With these offers you make your booking for the special on dimmi and pay nothing upfront. Just make sure the special is selected when you are booking - there should be some flames with '50% off food' above the date picker. The restaurant will honour the special on the day and you can pick anything off the food menu. You can cancel later if you can't make it so there's nothing to lose.

Note: 50% off food is literally that. Drinks are still full price. Always check the bill, one restaurant I went to forgot to apply the special at the end of the meal. ;)

Not sure how long the offer is on for, but dimmi offers usually last about a week or so.

Half Price Dining Dragoncello Surry Hills

By the looks of that pic, you're only getting half a serve too…

    • Never been fine dining?

      • +1

        I prefer course dining…

      • Whilst I take your point about fine dining, looking at the dish above (hoping its not reflective of the real portions) what is the use of fine dining when one needs a Maccas run on the way home?

        • I'd guess from the portion size that it would be part of a degustation menu. 1 out of the 8 items listed has an egg yolk.

        • @moocher:
I went to dragoncello for dinner and took their degustation menu. I did went straight away to the japanese restaurant 2 shops next door afterwards. I have been to several fine dining but this is the only place that made me had to order another set menu meal from another reataurant. The portion is small and not fulfilling for me. YMMV though.

        • @ozbaragan: Thanks for the feedback. I have never been there myself. Did you have their full degustation? (as opposed to 'half' degustation).

        • @moocher:
Yes I had the full degustation. I used the entertainment book 25% discount that day. I will not come back personally. The portion is just too small and not enough meat for my taste. I honestly still felt quite hungry that is why I went to Yakiniku gen 2 shops next door straight away. They had $10 set menu meal which is way better.

        • @ozbaragan: Ah ok. Thanks for the clarification.

  • Small portions alone do not qualify you as fine dining. I went here before on a voucher and the food was well below average. 50% off wouldn't tempt me back.

  • Thanks moocher. I tried the last 50% deal via Dimmi and was quite happy. How did you come across these specials?

I got this one from an email this time. Only Ceru was listed for half price dining in Sydney on the dimmi front page for Sydney, I wouldn't have known about Dragoncello if not for the email.

FYI, the 50% deals last for a week on Dimmi website and renews every Tuesday morning :)

And usually they show one restaurant on special doing 50% off, it is only when I get a Dimmi email then I'll know the other restaurant doing the 50% off.

      • Nice, thanks mooch and lippy!

  • FYI in case you didn't get the memo: Dimmi no longer gives 1,000 points for booking restaurants that are 50% off.
