  • Guess the force wasnt with this lightsaber… At least for the manufacturer. :)

    With price slashes like that!

  • Light saber dimensions: This product measures 114.6cm x 10.8cm x 8.3cm (W x H x D)

179!… Oh wait comes with a display stand, so all good now, definately worth it.

This is different to the toy plastic handle version. Has a proper metal hilt, and stand made of unobtainium.

  • Is this the one with the non-removeable blade?

    • This is the Black Series. They don't make the removable blade version anymore. I believe that's the signature series. I've got Luke's and Vader's ones from that. The Black Series is newer, comes with fixed blades and brighter lights and better sounds.

  • No love for Kylo or Yoda? :(

    • Maybe, we will have to wait till 2mrw to see :)

I paid $240 in the last sale, damn that is a bargain!

Love the saber, it's sitting on top of my PC, perfect color match =]

    • Me too! Kills me that it's so cheap now haha.

Why is every form of merchandise Darth Vader, lunch boxes, tshirts, etc? Feels like we're prepping a whole generation of Future Sith lords.

    • +3

Because he is what Star Wars is all about. Imagine if he didn't exist, there'd be no Luke, no Leia, no one to shoot torpedoes in the Death Star, no Kylo, etc. And he was also the one who brought peace to the universe by throwing the emperor down the shaft. All luke could do was whimper in the corner like a little baby. ;)

        Is that you Kylo Ren?

        • Kylo is a whimpy brat with a lightsaber. :D Vader forever!!!

  • That's a good price.
Paid $240 each for the Darth Maul and Obiwan sabers a couple years ago.
Is it only available on Thursday and only online?

    • They're marked as online only and I've never seen any of them in store.

  • damnit i want the mace windu one!

  • Still $299?

  • +1

    Just Ordered.
179 now, and found Yoda one same price.
Then two together, second one half price.
Flyby point redeem 20 bucks(seems like 20 bucks is maximum redeemable)
    Final price:248.50
    Total save: 109.50

    • nice! pity kylo's one isn't discounted.

and you forgot shopandmint 6% :)

      • Thank you for reminding me. Save even more. Great!

        • Can you use it even after finalising payment?

          @cortex21:

          Unfortunately not.

      • 0.9%?

        • oh true didn't see the drop down

          Electrical and Other - 0.90%

          GG.

CashRewards got rid of their Target cashback too :/

    • I did the same - 2nd for half price makes one of them almost as cheap as the plastic kits!

      • The kids ones are like $50 each though?

        • I was just comparing to the same category on Target having Jedi Master Lightsaber kits for $89 each. The second unit half price of the Force FX is $89.50. I realise it isn't a completely justified comparison, but the fact is you are getting one Force FX for $89.50 in the deal. I realise that you could buy 2 Jedi Master kits and get the same half price on second deal, but they are still a much lower quality product, albeit aimed at kids 'building' a saber.

        • @espcookie:

oh those are a rort for what they are!

the kids, non-extendable fluro (i think) ones were great for $48 @ Big W. good for fighting too.

        • @CVonC: Completely agree on that but if I could find any for $48 I'd be all over them! They were good units but now you're lucky to find any (except eBay at 3 times the price!).

  • BTW I've got these from before and they are not recommended to be playing sword fights, ie. they'll break.

  • Seems like a good deal compared with the newsletter(junk email) from EB Games selling each for more than $200.

  • As someone who loves Star Wars but doens't collect the toys, can someone please explain what features these sabers have that justify the cost? Not being smug, I want to know so I can base my decision on whether to buy or not.

      • So as I understand it they're collectors items? One review mentioned scalpers, are these limited production?

        • Don't know m8, you could contact Hasbro who are the Producers of the products.

    • Seems a bit underrated to be classified as a toy by the look of it. If you have a chance to check it out at your local EB Games or Games World maybe you can report back the quality if is it worth the cost?

    • They light up exactly like the movie with movie accurate sounds.
When you swing it, it makes a different sound.
When you clash with something (not violently), they make another movie effect sound.
The handle is metal and is close to the movie's saber.
Overall, if you are a Starwars fan, it'll definitely bring a smile to your face the minute you turn it on.
I started with Obiwan and told myself I only wanted to get 1.
Then got Darth Maul because you can buy 2 and join them together.
      Now Yoda and Darth Vader.
I shouldn't but now want to collect the whole set like a lot of the fanatics online:

  • these are collectors sabers. the hilts are metal and as accurate as you can get to the props used in the movies. It's really aimed towards Star Wars Fans who want a collectable version of the kids plastic versions.

For instance, the vader hilt is made of chromed metal, with rubber T rail grips attached and the calculator bubbles on the clamp switch, just like the prop used in 76. It's modelled after the ANH rather than the ESB version too, a detail probably only appreciated by a fan. This is the best price I've seen these at for years.

  • looking at the reviews, seems like Yoda's is much brighter then Vader's, although i prefer Vader's………

    decision decisions

    • get both :)

      • lol sounds tempting, but I must resist the dark side :)

Luke's blue saber seems to be the best one, but it is not available anywhere…………..

  • Any recommendations on removing the stickers from the Lightsaber, I can't remove the sticker residue.

    • Try 10% IPA with water solution.

    • You have yours delivered? How is the quality? I think it is sold out now. Only the one $399 left.

      • TBH, the quality is fair for the current price paid.
Comparing this Hasbro version to my earlier Master Replica ones, these are quite cheap feeling in comparison, eg. more plastic, cheaper feeling switches.
Even the stand you get with this one is cheaper.
Darth Vader's red light is not as bright as Yoda's green.

        • Got mine today too. Yeah the quality sits in between collectible and toy. Not too great or bad but honestly probably worth not more than $80.
