Samsung SDXC 64GB EVO Memory Card $25 if you don't want Micro SD

Not really that much different from MSY's current (non-sale) prices for the 850s.

    850 EVO 120GB: $93 link
    850 EVO 250GB: $126 link

Delivery got quoted at $1.86, so still cheaper for the 120GB and barely any different for the 250GB- am I missing something?

    • Um, $1.86 is a "handling fee", not delivery?

    • +30

You're missing the fact that everything that tightass posts is automatically an amazing deal.

      • Because she or he is tight and not loose????

        Ups….

Anything flies when you're OzBargain royalty

"Here's another super amazing deal from …"

      • Which is a massive problem that has not being addressed, the standard 20 votes for TA is useless as his deals get up voted no matter.

      Delivery is not $1.86….

Get your facts straight and then complain….

    Samsung EVO microSD 64GB $23.90

wow look at the price i wish can tell Tim from Apple, here is extra $30 please sell me me iphone with additional 64GB in ram.

    • rom? not ram, RAM is different much faster much higher grade and therefore more expensive volatile memory designed to be used for computers. This is just a memory card, one chip.

      • +3

therefore more expensive volatile memory designed to be used for computers.

        But not that expensive …

        • well, expensive $/GB wise anyway

      • +1

        Yes sorry rom

      • +10

ROM = read-only memory.. You'd be better off just calling it 'storage'.

Either way, his point is valid. The price difference on storage tiers on phones is absurd and 100% profit driven. If they marketed the 64GB, 128GB, etc at the real price difference, nobody would buy the lower priced items. ~$20 for double the storage - yes please.

        • +4

You know, if it was legitimate SSD over PCI-E/SATA, I would understand the price differences. But it's one damn flash chip!

        • +1

@Droidyy: Mmmhmmm.. And imagine the price Apple are buying these things for!? It would literally be CENTS difference between them!!

        • @ryang: tho if you buy a 64gb Sammy pro micro sd then the price triples - for about double the read write specs

      • +2

        Droidyy - rom? not ram,…

As the term "Read-Only-Memory" suggests, ROM is designed to be "written" once and then only used for "read" operations (apart from possible occasional re-writes for things like firmware updates, etc)
ROM it not generally used for normal write operations like saving files, installing apps, etc…

        eisniwre - Yes sorry rom

eisniwre was correct in referring to the "additional 64GB" as RAM - although "storage" as suggested by ryang would probably be less confusing for many - the "storage" quoted for phones is normally Non-Volatile RAM or NV-RAM, much like a flash drive or SSD :-)
The phone also has RAM (in the traditional sense) that is used for currently running applications and processes - this is "Volatile RAM". And typically measures somewhere around the 256MB to 4GB range.

    • It's Apple, they dictate the price, you don't.
So if Tim tells you to pay $300 for additional 64GB storage model, you reply "yes sir".

      • not everyone sheep!

        • +2

I hope you realise I'm being sarcastic :P

      • So if Tim tells you to pay $300 for additional 64GB storage model, you reply "yes sir".

Should you bend over with a lubed butthole first?

        • Hehe you can decided for yourself. And there's nothing wrong if you want to do that.

16 Votes and already on the front page? I think TA is a golden child :)

  • +2

wow. the RRP has been majorly marked up on all those deals. nonetheless they are "competitive" if you don't want to leave your house to get one of those.

The microSD's are cheaper from PC Byte's ebay store

    What a joke
Those Evo 850s can be found for that price or better at any number of stores around, locally
Just because a company calls it a sale, doesn't make it a good deal or a bargain

    • +5

Oh and I can't neg the deal for that reason, although I feel like that would best convey my disapproval of this particular deal
Surprising coming from TA, normally a much better poster

  • +7

I just hope everyone becomes objective and judge the deal by its merits not the author/contributor.

If you want to discuss why it reached the front page, please discuss this in the forums. Leave the comments here for the deal itself.

    • sleepy 24/7 makes a call here :)

    • @Sleepy24seven:

Probably a good time for you to ask the mods to move your comment (and replies) to the forums then…unless of course it's only disparaging comments towards the OP that you're uncomfortable with.

        "professionals" :)

      • I brought up this issue weeks ago- Ozbargainers are getting conned many times.

  • Are there any cashback sites for Shopping Express?

    • No cashback showing at any of the major cashback sites.

  • $125 delivered for the 850 EVO 250GB is a decent price.

Pity I could only order one.

  • Looks like the sale finishes on Sunday (not sure how to update the expiry date)

    • Updated thanks, you can hit the report button in future so mods can make any required changes.

Decent price but I wouldn't say they're great. The 850 Evo and 950 drives all have been cheaper before and this was when the AUD was weaker.

  • $11.80 to get it posted for me for the MicroSD :(

    • at the shopping cart you will noticed the shipping fee being offset as "discount" after you input your postcode. Also you may check order total to confirm the shipping is waived. Let me know if otherwise.

      cheers

  • Bah, there were almost daily microSD card deals for weeks until I actually needed one. Last week I went and bought from overseas and saved a whopping 31 cents over this deal… fk yeah!!!
