    It's $700-710-ish at centcom

    • +3

      Do you have a link?

I only see the OC variant at $794.

Yeah I don't think it's fair to compare this decently deluxe card to the bottom of the barrel dual fan / F tier brand ones.

        • Theres (profanity) all difference honestly, I bought a Palit GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Infinity 3 16GB which is comparable for $735 in May.

    • +1

For 100 bucks more you can get a 5070

      • -1

A 16GB one? I only know of 12GB ones, Id rather go a 5060 Ti with 16GB personally even with same prices

        • For the same price, you should absolutely go for the 5070. In a few years when 12GB may be limiting you, the 5060Ti won't be doing you many favours either.

Not defending the boneheaded 12GB decision by Nvidia, but the 5060Ti is quite a bit slower.

        • +2

The same 5060 ti that's 30% slower? Wild how the vram brainrot has gotten to some people

  • +1

$660 with Amazon Business if you can wait on those delivery times. https://gyazo.com/693b47129c959c025d7a250ae9d8f9a1

    • How to get GST free on Amazon business? Does it required to be GST registered ABN?

      • +1

Yes, to get GST free on Amazon Business (when eligible), you need your ABN to be GST registered. For most standard domestic items, GST will be included unless it's an export or legally exempt category.

  • +1

Are these really worth the $200 premium over the regular 5060?

    • +7

Not worth it, although the lack of memory might bite you in the long run. It's only 10-20% faster at 1080p, but if you want higher res simply don't buy an 8GB card

IMO don't buy either and get the 16GB 9060 XT if budget is important. Or hold out for another good 5070/9070 sale if you want good bang for buck. The 5060 ti is overpriced because it's the cheapest way to get 16GB DDR7 in a Nvidia card. Plus there's no good reason to get this Asus rather than wait for a black friday sale on a different brand.

      • Thanks for that. I was finding it difficult to imagine a use case in which this card would be the best choice.

I guess this card could maybe make sense if an NVIDIA-or-die fanboi really wanted to build the mother of all Xbox-sized, visuals turned to 11, 1080p machines.

The 16GB cards are good for cheap VRAM for AI models.

      • Yep, thats why I have 4060 Ti and 5060 Ti's here. Not cheap per se though lol

        • True, but good for Nvidia VRAM. I have two 4060 Ti's to backup my 5070 Ti and 4070 Ti, with just VRAM.

          • @AdosHouse: What do you use to use multiple GPU's I have been avoid it but I have a 3090 Sitting here that I have to finish re-applying thermals and debating whether to sell or put in a machine with an existing card.

NB for LLM's I just use CPU believe it or not, on a machine with 512GB. Its slow but it gets there in the end

            • @Franc-T: Can you use multiple GPUs of different types in the same machine if you're using them for AI?

Also, are the local LLMs any good for generating videos?

              • @BinaryPirate: Yes, but depends on what you are doing the tools etc.

What sort of videos? You can generate short videos really pretty easily now, you can do longer ones with tools such as framepack studio.

                • @Franc-T: I made some short ones using Sona but the restrictions got annoying fast.

I wanted to make some parody videos of maybe 30 secs each.
Sona wouldn't let me use any likenesses of famous people.

                  • @BinaryPirate: Video you can do, but no idea how to do voice and video thats imitating, might even be illegal in some respects

                    • @Franc-T: Parody & satire are considered protected even in Australia where we have constitutionally-implied free speech but no explicit free speech protections.

If the intent is malicious it's an entirely different story.

304mm long and 2.5 slots - this thing is anything but SFF ready.

There’s single slot and single fan alternatives coming.

5060ti is a nice card tho, pulls 150w under load

  • +3

Its pretty close to the 5070 from last Mwave sale, might just wait for a bit longer

  • I am still using NVIDIA 210

  • +5

This one doesn’t produce as many Jensen frames, so no good.

    • I, for one, am looking forwards to the day we no longer install games but simply give our GPUs a few prompts and the entire game is generated in Jensen frames.

    • I'm gonna need an explanation for this dank meme, have not seen it before :^) Are you talking about frame interpolation?

      • Multi frame generation

        • I think that would be called Multi Game Generation

Product description + reviews are claiming that it's 8GB

      • +1

Good pick up, didn't think to check the reviews since it was sold by amazon

  • +4

This card should be like $499

    • I mean, the 8GB version was almost that low up until recently.

  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC 8G is my current card. Should i get this or wait longer? I've got until Jan to swap it out (as current card will be used for another purpose). looking for advice from those who are actually doing their homework right now for a new GPU. Please and thankyou!

    • It really depends on your requirements. Ideally it would be great to wait for the RTX 5070 TI Super but it won't be released until sometime march next year. But since you got until Jan I'd push my budget and get a Asus TUF RTX 5070 12GB which can be had around $999 if you want something solid. Otherwise I feel something like this deal is hard to beat.

  • -2

Imagine buying this when RX 9070s have been <$800 lol.

40%+ faster for more or less the same price.

    • -1

Firstly, the RX 9070 competes with RTX 5070 - both have the same list price. It's unfair to compare it with this card.

The cheapest RX 9070 is currently $879 - how much it sold for in the past is largely irrelevant. You can get a 5070 for $869 - and both cards are pretty neck and neck performance wise. Meanwhile the cheapest 5060 Ti 16GB is $709.

      • +3

It is absolutely fair to compare them when they're within 10% price of each other. But yes, no good 9070 deals currently. If only Black Friday was 1 month away…

RX 9070 is ~10% faster than the 5070, which is ~30% faster than the 5060 Ti. So both the 9070 and 5070 at not very good prices, are still much better value than this "deal".

  • This is an AI card not for gaming, I tried it on vast.ai, decent improvement over 3060 12GB

    • Currently running a 3060 12GB as well messing around with AI. Been wondering how much of an improvement going to something with 16GB would be. 24GB cards are way out of my budget.
