Arggh. Looking at my posting history I am almost becoming a Lenovo rep — although I have never owned one (been a Dell guy for the last 10 years). This deal is really close to push me over to the other camp though (see here).

From tomorrow until Friday, Lenovo is offering extra discounts on the below selected models using coupon code AUPA3DAYEVENT:

  • 12% off Lenovo X100e ThinkPad laptops
  • 15% off Lenovo SL Series ThinkPad laptops
  • 20% off Lenovo T400s ThinkPad laptops
  • 30% off Lenovo T, X and W Series ThinkPad laptops
  • 35% off Lenovo T Series ThinkPad laptops when your configuration is $2300 or above

As I have said that I was looking for a business grade solid laptop with 14" LCD, at least i5 running Windows 7 Business (for development work), so I configured the following setup (from T410 ThinkPad T410 Performance Business):

  • Intel Core i5-540M
  • Windows 7 Business
  • 14.1" WXGA+ LED
  • NVIDIA NVS 3100m
  • 4GB DDR3
  • 320GB HDD
  • DVD Recordable

with upgrades

  • Integrated camera
  • 9 cell battery
  • Bluetooth

Comes down to $2,654.45 before discount, or $1,725.39 after it. (Yes I know it is still $200+ over my budget, doh).

That does make Dell Latitude E6400 looks pretty expensive, and it does not even have Intel Core i5. A Dell Vostro would be cheaper (after all the known Dell coupons), but not sure whether the quality of Vostro can be compared to THinkPad T Series…

Edited — forgot that you can also get 7% further discount from Lenovo which brings down the price to $1,605.

Edited 2 — apparently Lenovo has extended this to 20 April.

30% off ThinkPad T410/X201/W510 when your configuration is $2,000 or above

    http://lenovo.com/epp

    • Yeah basically this coupon code gives 5% more than EPP :)

      • False economy as the EPP prics are between 180-280 cehaper to start with. I crunch all the number and you're still about $100 better off using the EPP site and getting "only" 30% off. Tempting but I still can't ditch my monster T500 for a new model.

So you actually save another $50 or so, because base EPP prices are cheaper than normal prices.

        • I hope you guys don't get too caught up in this "deal"
Its not a deal ITS A SCAM! for unsuspecting people who fall for the 35% off line..

I bought a Acer Aspire 4745G (14 inch, WLED screen, Core I5 processor, switchable 512mb NVIDA graphics, 500gig HD, DVD, awsome battery etc ie same specs as above for $1017 Aus). This is a Acer but is it really worth $600-700 extra ???

I have done the EPP vs this coupon on the same specs for the T510

    EPP Price: $1590.39
OzBarg Price: 1644.29 - Then apply the 7% off that comes to $1529

Now, I am assuming that you can't apply the extra 7% on the EPP price? Anyone know?

    • why not? just apply the refer details to the epp entry site. I guess there's only one way to find out :)

  • Being an owner of 2 lenovos, I wish they offered discount on accessories.

  • do you guys normally get this upgrade?

Integrated Mobile Broadband (3G WWAN) - Qualcomm [add AU$137.50]

is this up to date model?

    Cheers
