Udemy Deals, Can They Have an Automatic Expiry Date?

We all love the Udemy course deals - free courses about almost anything. Hey, who doesn't want to lose Belly Fat https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/240466 or Learn How To Breakdance just like in Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/238794

The problem is the courses go from free back to paid pretty quickly and although the OPs usually update and cross out what is not free anymore they only do it for a week or so but the deal is still marked Active.
Could Udemy course be automatically marked as Expired after say 3-4 weeks? Going through a few just now I think 90% of the individual courses are expired.

  • All the deals expire after 6 weeks of no explicit expiry date has been set. Maybe those posting Udemy deals have to be more diligent in filling out the expiry dates.

    • thanks. Didnt know about the 6 week expiry.
But if I check one that is more than six weeks - eg https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/235039 , https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/231887
It is not marked Expired, all that it shows is the comments are closed.

They should — otherwise they might have been unexpired by OP, power user or moderators. I shall have a look.

        • cheers.

The auto expiry is 45 days for normal deals, however for freebies it is 90 days - that is why those Udemy deals are still active.

Edit: The deal posted on 25/01/2016 would have been auto expired in a week (when 90 days hit) but have marked it expired manually now, the other 17/2 deal is still active so will leave that.
