  • Realistically, am I going to see any improvement going 16gb -> 32gb.

I mostly just use photoshop and lightroom, or play xcom and Civ5.

    • It will help with PS…I recently upgraded from 16 to 32gb.

Depends on what you're editing. Load up the largest file(s) you'd work with (maybe a couple at a time), work with them and check your RAM usage in Task manager. If you're hitting 80% or around that, might be worth considering an upgrade.

      • Hm. So, biggest file I could find is ~6gb, and even that never hit 50% of RAM.

This has got to be the first time ozbargain made me not buy something!

The increase in RAM wouldn't matter for gaming. As for photoshop, it'd only make a difference if you happen to max out your RAM usage already. This is generally based on the file size of the images you're editing; though 8 or 16GB is usually enough.

      • You can use the spare RAM as a RAMdrive for even faster loading of your games =)

    • After Effects and 3D rendering software benefit the most from 32GB, image editing less so.

It's only c16 for those chasing performance .

    • yay, because 3% (max) matters :>

  • It's coming up USD$37.49 for me. Anyone else getting the same?

  • Works out in the Amazon cart for 16GB is AUD $108.19 delivered.

    • Did you select amazon as your seller in the right sidebar?

      • Yeah sorry i was too late to edit my message after realising i was accidentally selecting a third party seller which fulfills through Amazon. It turns out with seller Amazon.com it's AUD $82.61 delivered for 16GB worth although currently in a "Usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks" status.

It's amazing how cheap DDR4 ram is from overseas. 16GB DDR4 for around $80 is great.

This is actually the correct web page link to this DDR4 RAM from seller Amazon.com so perhaps the web site link in the thread may need to be changed to it. Just so no one accidentally orders from this current third party seller which is showing on the thread web site link.
