  • Good deal, but you need to add more money for extended warranty & delivery

  • 5% MoneyBackCo too!!!

Can't load site but what is delivery to Sydney?

  • How would you compare this to the EX series Sony 100hz which has just been released.

55" version is $2149 or something like that at David Jones at the moment.

  • I got one of these TV's a year ago for $3299 :) wow price has come down allot!
Awesome TV though probably the best CCFL money can buy in the market! Can only go better by buying LED

  • They rise the price to $2796.50

That'd be Topbuy for you, and they have form here!!!

Anyhow, I wouldn't buy it from a dodgy mob like FlopBuy. This TV is being cleared out and many retailers are keenly pricing these to clear

      • McLarenMercedes what did we ever do to you?

Anonymity doesn't make it right to say anything you like.

We are not perfect, our performance is very good given the volume of customers we service.

We are normal people just like you, consumers. All we are trying to do is deliver good products at top value prices. Problems do occur, we do all it takes to address them.

So if you have a problem please let us know, and we will resolve your issues.

watties, topbuy consistently flip flop their promos — almost as soon as they hit OzBargain, bang, price goes up… hence the "flopbuy". It's got nothing to do with being anonymous, and if he was standing in front of you and you just changed the price on him, I'm sure he'd tell you the exact same thing.

You're right, mistakes do happen.. But uhh… prices don't spontaneously go up on ecommerce solutions unless someone puts them up. I'm not sure if it's intentional or on a timer of sorts (or just a bug that magically arises), but it gives your brand name a negative image - as you can see. "I'm not sure why our prices fluctuate" doesn't really cut it.. Maybe the first time, but after that, how can anyone give you the benefit of the doubt?

This is something that should be looked into if you don't want negative comments to popup on OzBargan every time someone googles your company's name… because it seems to be a common trend.

Edit: Your bargains are fairly hit and miss. I've seen some good bargains with positive feedback on here, and then some absolute atrocities to go along with them (and of course, we both know which ones will be remembered). Since a rep has been active on OzB, many of the issues people have has been rectified (whether that's because OzB'ers are vocal, or whether you're just 'doing the right thing', I don't know).. except for this one (price discrepancies).

          I've noted:
          - bait advertising
          - insanely inflated postage
          - rep being clueless on their policies
          - Inconsistencies in prices. Newsletter offers x price, site is x price + $10-20
          - No opting-out of your newsletter (also noted by a moderator here): http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=pc_311970
          - misleading advertising (grey import, lack of GST included in price, clear violations of the Trade Practices Act)
          - On a number of occasions, prices that flip flop. I actually think in one of the other bargains the price flip flopped multiple times.

Unfortunately, I think in many of these instances it's just a company trying to take the unwitting customer for a joyride (which is despicable). It's poor practice and you'll get vocal complaints about it.. it does no good for your business in the long-run.

@pais: Ouch. Brutal. Especially when it's true.

          • @pais: Thanks for the heads-up

          • @pais: Extremely well said Pais, precisely the points I was going to make. Interesting how watties436 isn't back to refute the undeniable facts you state.

            • @McLarenHonda: I like to give people the benefit of the doubt (and note that he hasn't signed back in), but I'd imagine he receives email updates whenever someone comments the thread… so that makes it a little hard. A bit disappointing - just chalk it up on the list, I guess.

Could also add to the list that they have more than one rep despite the rules stating against it:

      • Have you ever dealt with them directly. I have on three occasions without issue.

        • Yes I have xuqi, although this is truly irrelevant to point that is being made in the discussion here. We have a large number of members on this forum alone testifying against Topbuy's unquestionable and well-publicised shoddy practices.

I am glad your experiences with Topbuy have been good, but one needs to put other people's ill-experiences into perspective, before leaping to their defence.

    • False deal.

    • Hi ALL, we just discovered this problem as well, and put the price back to the promotion price.

Not sure what caused the price to jump from $2039.95 to this price. It's being $2039.95 since 12:00 noon.

IT will look into this shortly and find out what caused the price change.

To the critics… Problems happen, we don't live in a perfect world.

"To the critics… Problems happen, we don’t live in a perfect world."

with that attitude, you won't go very far

        • Not far at all! Mind boggling a supposedly reputable and large business fails to see the "critics" as potential customers.

Moreover, it bemuses me how dodgy businesses and their reps have the nerve and conscience to defend/deny/sidestep dodgy busy practices.

As for Flopbuy, "problems happen", just way too often.

lot of tv & laptop "deals" have been posted recently, do people not realise it is the normal going price if you look around for specials or haggle, AUD went up quite a bit in the last year, while new generations of hardware have just been released or are about to (heavy push for 3D TV rubbish is upon us soon) so they are trying to get rid of old generation LCD & plasma models, which are still good, probably better picture then the 3D capable ones

    • Yes, it's true, these sets appear to be getting cleared out from numerous sources.

After phoning around, I picked one of these at cost ($1800) from a friend who owes me a few favours & was willing to forgo any profit on it. I would have preferred an LED, but really happy with it for the price. Sorry this deal can't be shared, but hoping someone can benefit from this info.

    • what's with the link mate?

    CROOKS

  • true…

  • Well, it's back to $2039.95 as I speak…

  • not recomended….

  • Yeah, that's dodgy. TopBuy, you've just lost another customer.

  • +1

I wouldn't deal with TopBuy, way to dodgy for my liking
