Just went to Liquorland and found that Little Creatures Pale Ale and Bright Ale were on special for $54.

I am in ACT, so your results may vary.

Enjoy. :)

EDIT: As per comments, looks like Dan Murphy's have price matched. https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_901651/little-creat…

$54 in Melbourne was $61 I believe last week at Dan Murphys.

Must be too mainstream now, hipsters no longer paying for exclusivity? :)

    • lol. I really, really like Little Creatures but I never buy it because of the price. This was a happy accident. :)

That would be Melbourne Bitter in a tinnie

Little creatures sold out. It's owned by Lion Nathan now and isn't Australian any longer. Just another macro brew people shouldnt really care about like James Squire etc.

      • +4

Brewed in the same place it always has been. Who cares who owns it…?

        • +1

It's now brewed in Geelong for the East Coast market.

      • Same recipe to my knowledge, James Squire changed theirs for the worst. Their Pale Ale is still nice and hoppy to start to explore beer flavour and still a great drop for a now owned macro.

        • Recipe's not the same. They now use Galaxy as one of the hops (which wasn't even a variety back when it LCPA was first created)

Still a decent drop, but you can notice the different flavour profile, less like SNPA than it was in the past.

As for where it's brewed, yes there's a new East Coast brewery, but it is a dedicated one for LC (with white rabbit onsite) as opposed to James Squire which comes out of the main Tooheys brewhouses.

oh, DM in Brisbane now have it at $53.95…..hmmm, might buy it now…(never did before since I too found it expensive…)

Don't forget cash rewards if you do

Same price at DM in Perth.

Man I am happy to live in Germany.. This is 8L of beer for 37 euros equivalent, and the cases of (premium) beer here are regularly 12-15 euros for 20x 0.5L bottles (so 10L) - about a quarter of the price!

Nonetheless, bargains are all relative ;)

*Note, I am no longer associated with Liquorland, I just haven't bothered contacting Admins to remove the association..

I should neg you out of jealousy.

What are your favourite beers over there?

      • +6

Haha, well funnily enough I probably drink less beer here than in Australia anyway! I guess it's an atmosphere thing, people drink their beers slower and stay out much longer.

Favourite beers so far depends on the occasion I guess:
        - Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier or the Dunkelweiss are my favourites if I'm just having one or two glasses, any more and your stomach will fill up faster than you could ever get drunk!
        - If I'm at the park during the day I would drink a lighter beer like Veltins Pilsner (super cheap option too) or if a Radler if the mood strikes (pre-mixed with a kind of lemonade and 2-3% alcohol)
        - Drinking on the streets at night or before a party, I would normally buy Rothaus pils or Augustiner Helles (Southern German beers)
        - Buying beer to share with friends - Berliner Pilsner (8 euros for 20x0.5L bottles, can't beat it).

But nothing in Germany has compared to the beer in Czech Republic.

I recently went to southern Bohemia (Ceske Budejovice) where the original Budweis lager was invented, and was offered the choice of just a light (colour not ABV) or dark Budweis beer at a bar. Unable to decide, the bartender offered a half and half (I thought she was making a joke), but it turns out to be quite common and also one of the best beers I have ever had. All of the flavour a dark beer has to offer without any bitter aftertaste, amazing.

          Sweet. Good to know.

Would love to make a pilgrimage to the Chimay Monastery one day. If I got that right. I should research it.

Reminds me of Tooheys "middle aged" in uni, back in the days when both Old and New were on-tap.

        • Love the Czech beer.

          Budvar,
          Plizn,
          Kozel.

          In any order.

        • So jealous!!!!
I loved the beers through Germany and Czech….

I have it for 53.95 at my local Dan Murphys (Manly Vale, NSW).

    • Looks like DM beat it by 5 cents again. Time to go get myself a case

  • liquorland brisbane also have 2 six packs for $27.50 ($23.50+ $4) for those who want to try this beer before buying a whole box.

    Nice find OP :)

  • Coles online is completely useless..

Always "temporarily unavailable" for ordering a slab, but can order 4*6 packs fine.. ( I have credit to be used at coles online, so just walking into a store doesn't do the job)
