Lorna Jane Warehouse Sale @ MCEC (MEL Only) - Tanks $20/40, Tops $25/40, Shorts $30, Bras $45 + More

50

Lorna Jane are having another warehouse sale, at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center (opposite Crown). This is pretty much the only time I bother with LJ because their products are way too expensive. But at a warehouse sale the prices are not bad! Normal prices in brackets, taken from their website (yes, ridiculous prices I know).

Accessories from $5
Lifestyle Tanks $20 (usually $35 to $50+)
Short Sleeve Tops $25
Shorts $30 ($63 to $80)
Excel Tanks $40
Sports Bras $45 ($56 to $73)
Long Sleeve Tops $40
Pants $40 ($66 to $130)
Leggings $60 ($80 up to $120)
Jackets/Hoodies from $65 ($80 to $180)

They will have further on the spot discounts and multi buy offers throughout the day. The queues can be horrendous. If you want to beat the queues you can sign up for some fitness classes they are holding, that cost $15. (More details on their Facebook event page.) I have been to one before, get ready for communal change rooms, items which may have a fault (but are sold as is so buyer beware triple check everything) and general craziness. These are good prices for the quality if you like "interesting" colours/patterns and supposedly 'inspirational' quotes (not all bad, there are some plain items as well).

  • "a few menswear items"

Really? Is that like test items or a different supplier altogether?

    • Edited out, must have been another warehouse sale also starting with L :)

  • Their high prices do no reflect good working conditions for those that make the products.
    See their grade here

    • Thanks for mentioning this. Decided I couldn't buy LJ in good conscience after reading this article a few days ago. LJ found to be among the worst in terms of supply chain transparency. Important that people know this when deciding to purchase.

      • Interesting last sentence there. As a bargain-related web site, we often see cheap products here but with little mention about how these cheap prices are obtained. In many cases, workers' welfare is sacrificed in the pursuit for profit but we have almost no visibility of this as consumers. This is a problem and is, in my opinion, the main reason why free market theory is flawed. Information is neither free nor fully available. I suppose that the internet can improve information gathering for the consumer, but can also be used by public relation experts and company spokespeople to create spin and deceive consumers. It's the same story with political elections :-(

        • I agree. If we could have complete transparency on the ethics of a transaction before we go into it, people generally would modify their habits as a consumer (I would hope) and the market would have to change its practices to lure back consumers that want to make ethical purchasing decisions.

  • +1
