I'd be trying these pots with a full weight of cold water in them before trusting them to safely hold the same amount of boiling water. Then again, they are probably safer than a certain local R*co brand with a three rivet handle that is an invitation to an A&E visit for anyone in a hurry :-/

    • You have to be kidding me. If you are talking about Raco, at least the fully stainless sets, then I can tell you that stuff is awesome compared to the rubbish that's been posted. I have a bunch of fry pans, heavy duty, with some weight with a two rivet handle (massive rivets) and that thing has been going for over 10 years and looks as good as the day it was bought.

On the other hand most of the woolies/coles rubbish I've bought has lasted 6 months before I chucked it out. One screw (SCREW!) wonders that over time bend or come undone. Think about tightening them? Sure the first couple of times maybe. The screws are the worst because you think they are secure but over time they arent. Complete rubbish.

I mean come on 30 piece for 25 bucks..We all know the quality involved here. I'm not going to argue whether this is a bargain compared to the regular price but I'd rather buy one decent pot from raco for 30 bucks at a time. It would be much cheaper in the long run. (Not affiliated with raco).

      • I'd agree - on the 10 year old stuff. :-/. I tried a new one three years ago as I was back in the market. It was a 5 litre pot. I took a 5 Kg weight in the store, put it in the put, then picked it up quickly.
I'm glad I did. The rivets gave allowing the handle to loosen and the pot to tilt. At least the sales staff didn't need my explanation that I had merely saved time and paperwork getting a refund and a possible action for the effects of 5 litres of boiling water.

  • Seen at Coles Cranbourne Park, was all in the first aisle with the seasonal merchandise.

Always test pots before you buy… apply a reasonable amount of pressure and see if they start to bend or give way at the handle join. Many very cheap ones are downright dangerous and should never be sold.
Best to find out before they are full of something very hot.
