Price match to Aldi's up coming Ferrex 20V lawn mower deal. Was $268 now $199. Plenty of stock around it seems.
Kit includes 2 chargers, 2 3.0 AMP Battery's also.
Believe is an ATL for this mower (could be wrong)

I think it would depend on if your in the ozito eco system and also need to think about spare parts and replacement. On paper the Aldi one appears a better mower but also you may need to fight nan and pop next saturday morning to ensure you secure one!
i have the ozito 36v brushless, but it’s twice the price of this offer, the aldi one would be appealing if i didn’t an ozito already, aldi has bigger battery , electric mowers are great in inner city . i have bosch, makita, aldi and ozito chargers now so dont worry about ecosystems, though most batteries are makita and ozito.
ALDI one is better.
The larger catcher makes a big difference.
30L catcher on the ozito is tiny.
ALDI batteries are better too. Not only 4ah but if I'm not mistaken they use the 21700 cells which are superior to the entry level ozito batteries included in this deal
link to the aldi one?
The Aldi one is significantly superior - the only reason to get the Ozito one is if you're already in the PxC ownership sphere and feel having more of their gear is a flow on benefit (which I think is questionable as much of a benefit) perhaps also the ability to get a quick replacement if you have an issue.
Otherwise Aldi's is bigger, has better quality cells in the battery packs, they're 4aH vs 3aH PxC and the big one thats not said is that the Aldi machine is brushless! Much more power and runtime than brushed motors.
Reports on that Aldi mower the last few years have been good.
@Daniel Plainview: Mine from 2019 still going strong. Best mower I've ever owned (bought for $229). Even better than the Kobalt 80V on clearance for $374 at Masters which is still going strong for almost a decade (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/247108) - I use it for the front; Aldi for the back.
@ihbh: Those Kobalt's eh? I recall considering grabbing one myself as Masters (very sadly) folded - decent kit from all reports. Very ipressive if the Ferrex is in the same ballpark. Definitely excellent value for folks with regular sized yards….on acreage myself.
great to have a real world user for buyers to consider but I think while Bunnings sometimes offers up decent 'matched products' this is not one of those times, clear daylight to the Aldi mower IMHO.
FWIW Bunnings is making a mess of this product offering having way too many varients on these low end mowers, 330mm, 335mm, 300mm, 380mm etc - they are going to orphan too many users with this constant changing for no good reason. Pick a few different sizes and stick with them.
Definitely excellent value for folks with regular sized yards
I was referring to this. The Kobalt would be better for acreage. It's got a steel deck and heavier.
@Daniel Plainview: My Kobalt mower is still going strong, just needs the battery changed over a bit sooner these days!
I have had the ALDI mower for more than 5 years now, still going strong. Bit heavy if the land is not flat but not too bad, I have no other complaint.
Thinking about replacing the blade, anyone knows where I can find one? I am also in Ozito ecosystem not sure an adapter can be had to use Ozito batteries on the mower
Thinking about replacing the blade, anyone knows where I can find one?
For anyone reading, this will never be a problem with the Ozito one as you could just walk into a Bunnings and pick up a blade for the Ozito.
Perhaps it's possible to get it for the aldi one, I just don't know how/where.
There’s a mower shop at Michelton on the Northside that might sharpen the blades for you.
can anyone vouch for the quality of this mower? can it plow through decent growth?
*Wobbleboard has entered the chat
I've used in long overgrown grass at a rental with some small branches mixed in. I can't compare it to other electric lawnmowers but it definitely didn't have the grunt of petrol. It would get through the grass eventually on a few takes, but would stop if it came across grass too dense or a branch over 1cm diameter. I'd recommend for your standard suburban backyard if you keep on top of maintenance.
I have had this for a few years and it works well, as long as the grass is not too long, in which case I have to do two passes at different heights.
It feels very light and plasticky and flimsy, especially the wheels, and where they join, but no issues so far
I've got the older bigger steel deck, decent growth no but you can let things over grow a bit. Gets through 2 weeks of growth in a brisbane summer without too much drama. See if you can't pair this with the bigger batteries (more power) and it'll handle most residential like a champ.
doesn’t go low enough, so essentially it’s trimming rather than cutting.
not wide enough so it will take multiple passes than those with 18 inch width.
not powerful enough so it will get bogged down in thicker vegetations.
so for smaller yards with broadleaf grasses it will do the job just fine.
Not brushless, get the ALDI ones with bigger battery, catcher and brushless.
Wtf is that username lol
The chainsaw pruner has been dropped but not matched Aldi.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-160mm-6-brushless-…
Awesome, have been waiting for this to drop!
still showing as $89 for me, aldi is $49
it was $129
Link to Ali one? For half the price and same functionality, I might give Aldi a chance, unless Bunnings matches it later.
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-36v-2-x-18v-380mm-brus…
Need the brushless do go down need 380 minimum.
You can get the brushless 300 for 229 though
that's 18v however the 300. And from experience the height adjusted is a massive PITA! Soon as you hit a bump in the lawn ( if have buffalo) if jumps out of height adjusted so you don't get a good equal cut.
f**k yeah it is, i absolutely HATE mine. I've been meaning to bolt the wheels at a fixed height for a while now.
Is the height slipping a specific issue to the 300mm 18V brushless?
I have the 380mm 36V Mokr linked and the height adjust has never budged unintentionally and I can't see how it could.
remember, it is becoming harder to return to bunnings items such as this, even with invoice
Really how so ? Never had a problem with refund/returns personally with faulty items or not doing as promised
Explain
same feeling, but fair enough. Every tool return now needs to be verified by in store tool staff or technician. Compare to before, yes you need to spend more time to have a warranty. Also if you purchase a item during promotion, and you need to do a warrenty return or exchange, but the item or similar item now is under different sku, they are asking you pay the difference or just give you refund instead of exchange, unless you raise the issue to store manager. That is my last week experience at bunnings for my garden tool comes with bunnings lifetime warranty. In Aldi, they donot ask questions about warrenty as they offer 60-day satisfaction guarantee on most grocery and Special Buy items.
is this fine to use for a normal size 600m2 block or should I go for the Aldi one?
a commenter above is saying the aldi one is better with a bigger catcher
how much of the 600m2 is lawn ? i mow 150m2 and battery still has life left with 36v and 4amp batteries. emptying catcher is the nuisance.
Hoping to see a price match for the 20V Brushless Pruning Secateur Skin and 20V Brushless Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Kit also.
Itching for this too.
I'm assuming this is the equivalent product
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-brushless-hammer-d…
Also waiting for this kit to go on special! Thought I might have been waiting another 6 months for aldi special buys
Aldi is 2ah battery and ozito is 4ah so hopefully still price matched
Although reviews say the hammer drill really struggles with brick, I bought the non brushless version and it was actually pointless. Couldn't drill a single hole more than 3mm into brick. I ended up buying a SDS drill which would do it in about 5 seconds where I spent maybe 30 mins trying with the ozito brushed version.
As it isn't in the name, assuming this Ozito one is not brushless.
correct this model isn't brushless
I'm new to lawnmowers and don't know what's the difference between brushless vs not brushless.
I have a 200sqm lawn. Which one would be better for me? This one for $200 or 18V 300mm Brushless for $229?
I would go 36v if lawn is in good shape. Brushless should last long, but i’ve realised that i have to mow lawns only 12 times a year (more frequent oct-dec, and barely in other months), so i’d go power over brushless. A lawn overtaken by weed is a different story, needs frequent mowing, and neither would be suitable, would need 36v brushless.
My lawn hasn't been mowed in months and is full of weeds now. What benefits would the 36v brushless have over this one? Would this break if I used it on my lawn?
My observation is that if weeds take over the lawn, it needs to be mowed frequently. Some weeds just grow vigorously. So, it can grow faster and will need more power like 36v brushless.
A well maintained lawn on the other hand can be managed with less powerful 36v mower like the one in this post. When i moved to a suburban house, i pulled out all weeds, and still do. I just mow like 12 times a year, including fortnightly during oct-dec, and lawn is never out of control. Few of my friends lawn has been taken over by weeds, and in a fortnight it can grow 10cm taller during growing season. it’s just my observation.
Nevertheless, 18v are just for new estates with a small patch of lawns like 50 sqm, not recommended for 200 sqm.
Brushless just means the electric motor will last a long time as it has no contact with anything. It's entirely magnetically driven.
In general the bigger the mower the faster you'll get the work done. For a 200sqm it'll mean an extra two laps up and down and an extra grass dump.
i do not reccomend the brushless. the height adjuster is a nightmare and keeps changing when your cutting.
It's a good mower. Enough power for a regular yard, if you mow often enough. It is noticeably smaller than most lawn mowers I've used, though. Definitely gets some extra steps in.
Much better being able to use 2 x 18V Ozito batteries than having to buy new 36V batteries like you have to with Ryobi.
Could be their first ever 36v deal. They’re always flogging off the underpowered 18v ones. Nice one.
Is anyone aware of battery adapters between Aldi and Ozito?
I know it’s 18v vs 20v, but that’s 12 cells or 13 cells. I suspect the advertised voltage is likely more about marketing.
That's just marketing in pretty sure. All 20V are essentially 18V
Not sure why you're downvoted (have a +1), that's pretty much it.
https://www.protoolreviews.com/20v-max-vs-18v-battery-power/
Within a single company, if they have both 18V and 20V it's usually so that they can separate ecosystems - so they can re-sell newer models as part of a 20V ecosystem that aren't compatible (in terms of connector form factor) as a 18V system.
But really it's a matter of measuring nominal cell voltage vs. max cell voltage (without getting into the weeds on what nominal/max cell voltage is for li-ion cells - I fully expect they're just leaving headroom to allow 21V to be used as a marketing term soon).
Pretty sure 18v or 20v are both 5s, and the difference is if you use a nominal voltage of lithium of 3.6v or 4v per cell.
335mm is pretty narrow. Depends on yard size I guess
Finally, have been waiting for a year for this to be on sale
I have one of these and banged up the blade getting too close to the bolts on a light post I was trying to mow. Any better blades? The default ones weren't much to talk about to begin with
Anyone know how long this sale will last, might take chance for Aldi one as I don't have Ozito gears.
I wish the steel deck brushless got discounted!
These are OK if lawn tiny but otherwise better off getting Steek Deck versions. Way better.
Any deals coming on ozito line trimmer you think? Aldo have a competitor going on sale in same catalogue
I have a medium size back yard. Can you anyone please tell me approximately how many munites those ozito and aldi battery lasts? I know it varries but I just want a somewhat idea. Thanks
around 30m minutes for the 3.0a when the grass is not thick
best to get the 4 pack 18v 4.0a for $12X when they are on special then you won't have any issues
Thanks Aldi. They dropped theirs to $199 this Sat.
Note Aldi mower is 370mm and batteries are 4Ah, but 1 charger.
