Receive a $20 Myer Shopping Voucher When You Spend $75 or More in One Transaction* at Myer

290

i got this email from myerone. "Receive a $20 Myer Shopping Voucher when you spend $75 or more in one transaction* at Myer from Wednesday 21 until Monday 26 April 2010. You can use your $20 Myer Shopping Voucher from Tuesday 27 April until Sunday 2 May when you spend $30 or more in one transaction^ at Myer."

in the terms its confusing. it first states you need to spend only $30 then further down it says $75. i am not sure which is correct? if think what it means is you need to spend $75 first then a further $30 to get the $20 discount. if this is so then its not much of a bargain. I think its best call them to find out before you waste your time.

  • Probably means you get the $20 Voucher when you spend more than $75 from 21st - 26 April
And the voucher itself can be used only if it is used to buy something over $30 from 27 April - 2 May

    • Conditions are a bit limiting. You have to spend over $105 (in 2 separate transactions) to get $20 within the times specified, not to mention the long exclusion list.

  • i think its spend $75 to get a $20 voucher one week. And then the next week you need to spend at least $30 to use your $20 voucher.

  • still a bargain
as long as u ahve a few things to buy

  • also i think u can get the voucher on anything
but when u wanna use it
    there is an exclusion list

  • Longest exclusion list ever.

  • Confusing…

What is the exclusion list for?

Do you have to buy $75 dollars worth of things not on the exclusion list to get the $20 voucher?
    or
Do you get the $20 voucher no matter what you buy so long as it's >$75? then when you use the $20 voucher, it can only be on things not on the exclusion list?

With an exclusion list that long, Myer should list the things you are allowed to buy rather than items you are not.

  • Ah you people whinging about the exclusion list. It's the same every time: these are just the brands that have set up little stands inside Myer, and are probably run separately to the Myer business. Hence they can't offer discounts on those brands, only their own products.

Just avoid the wanky counters with the brand reps, and everything else is fair game.

    • At over 100 exclusions (per item type and brand), that's a lot of exclusions. Some have their own stands inside Myer, but most don't.

      • Maybe it's just me, but I personally think it's pretty obvious when you walk into a Myer store which brands are likely to be excluded, because they're usually set apart from other products. Even so that might only be the ones I've been to, but it shouldn't be rocket science.

If that's a problem, then save yourself the frustration and don't try to take advantage of this bargain…

(As to your comment about number of items excluded… a typical supermarket in US keeps about 45,000 SKUs: http://www.fmi.org/facts_figs/superfact.htm - I'm sure your average Australian department store would be in a similar ball park. Make of that what you will…)

        • I did mention over 100 exclusions, but it's unfair to compare SKUs (individual product) with what was mentioned in Myer's exclusion list: entire brands and item categories. Country Road sells maybe 50 lines at Myer, yet I counted it only once and not 50 times. To compare it with SKUs, we could say Myer's exclusion list covers maybe 5000 items. Your comparison really was apples and oranges.

@Cluster: So let's be fair and say roughly 20% of their entire inventory is excluded. That's 80% of their range that is included in this sale. I know your original comment about having an inclusions list instead may have been flippant, but you know how random people on the Internet are likely to argue anything at the drop of a hat! :-P

  • Pretty good offer, nearly 20% off. Thanks for posting.

  • Was thinking of getting a couple of Ralph Lauren polo shirts, but it's excluded.
