Hi Again Everybody,

So after my Dick Smith sales expedition ended this afternoon, I decided to pop into my local Bing Lee and came across what I think was a pretty nifty bargain.
I've been told that I often resemble a disheveled hobo so this deal must be a wake up sign? :)

          There is a pickup in store tab on the page - I just tried a random 3000 postcode and Wodonga, Albury and Belconnen all came up with stock.

          I don't think you can pre-purchaser online and pick up (My mistake) but using this tab, you should be able to suss out which one of your local stores has stock and just pay in store.

          Kinda poor in this day and age when most major retailers have the option of pre-paying and securing items. Heck, even Dick Smith had it and they are in liquidation.

          Even with $9 postage, still a decent deal I think… :)

          Oh WOW!! I didn't realize how small Bing Lee's network was. Also shows how poor my geography is when I was born and bred in NSW and assumed Wodonga, Albury and Belconnen were in VIC…Ekkk!

          I'd probably see if you can find a workmate or family member/friend who wants one too and would split postage evenly. Makes for an awesome gift. I haven't tried it yet as I've never own an electric shaver before (Pack of 10 BIC shavers for $3 were my go to) so I'll report back on how it is. :)

    BTW: Their discount margins seem to pretty slim (supposedly) I initially got the sales person to check if he could do it for $25.00 which he said yes but while I was browsing around his manager claimed to have told him it was below cost and they could only knock off $2 to bring it down to $27.

    I was a little peeved but it wasn't worth arguing over $2. Guess that makes me a wannabe Ozbargainer… Wahhh! :'(

    Long story short, if you're in store ask for a discount even if it's only $1 or $2. I'll post the receipt up later.

    Does this Bing Lee business operate only in the Easter states (NSW and Vic, or only one?) or it has stores in other states as well? I see their deals posted here very often and I never saw any of their stores in my part of the nation.

      Well it seems like Bing Lee only have a footprint in NSW/ACT at the moment. Surprising since they've been around since the 80's as this AWESOME commercial shows;

      Then again, Dick Smith had hundreds of stores nationwide and that didn't seem to help the situation.

      The way I see it, the electronics retails space is as follows; Harvey Norman, JB HI FI, The Good Guys then Bing Lee.

      While Bing Lee doesn't always have the cheapest prices, I find their smaller family focused customer service to be a plus and it's always good to have competition to keep the big 3 honest.

    Good price but I've never liked those circular bits (though they look cool). I don't know if these have the typical flick out comb-shaped trimmers but the dedicated horizontal trimmers are perfect for a monthly trim.

      Bing Lee told me today that there is no issue with stock, they just had a totally unexpected huge amount of sales today. They will be restocking asap. By later this week or next week they will have tons more in stock. Hopefully what i was told by the sales assistant was correct!
