One of the new features is Home Network Protection that shows devices connected on the network with info including the manufacturer of the device and it's IP. It'll also show devices that have previously been connected to the network. It can also scan your router for any vulnerabilities too.

All you need to do is click on the GET BETA NOW button and activation does not require your email address or any other personal information.

  • Once it comes out of Beta will we HAVE to purchase the software to continue using it?

    • +1

I'm assuming yes as I haven't seen any mention of it.

      • Do you know how long the beta program will run for?

        • I've put the question to ESET and I'll let you know.

        • +1

          Until 1st of November.

  • Was looking for an ESET freebie when I came across this..
    Thanks :)

    • They never do freebies unfortunately unless you go to their launch parties. Plenty of 50% off renewal codes each month though.

      • except this time :)

        • ESET actually cancelled that 1 year trial

I only found out as ESET stopped doing any updates to the virus signature database or the product version when there was still a few months left on the license and when I asked ESET about it they said "Free trial License that was cancelled due to abuse. It was leaked online and shut down."

          :(

        • @mrshorty: Yeah same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago, i emailed them and they sent me a new key :)

        • @shapers:

hah no way - I emailed them and the guy said theres nothing he can do! But I emailed the Australian office - ill try a different one

        • @mrshorty: I emailed the Australian one too, got this reply:

I’m sorry the trial license batch was cancelled due to fraudulent overuse.

I am issuing you another license that you will receive via email.

          Apologies for the issue.

Could you confirm your full name so I can correctly apply the license?

Got the key aand it worked perfectly :)

  • How's everyone finding this antivirus so far?

Heard some really good things about ESET Nod 32.

  • Mine's been free since 2003 ;)

I always run a trial version with a little app that automatically inserts new trial keys once a month.

    • That's a smart way of doing it. I've just been using NFR keys ;)
