Breville BVP750 The Fresh Keeper Duo Food Vacuum Sealer $99 (Normally $219) @ Myer

70

Been keeping an eye out for a food sealer since the Anova Precision Cooker Sous Vide deal.

Reviews are mixed, but for abit extra thought it be a worth a shot over a kmart one.

To say reviews are mixed is quite generous. The reviews I read said it was terrible.

Also, it seems that the usual price at the Good Guys is $149.

    • I know what you mean, but the sample size of reviews for this product is quite small and people also tend to only submit a review on those sites when it breaks only. The only aus food sealer that has been positively reviewed is the Sunbeam VS4800 and that is going for roughly $250.

        Normally $219

Unless you do a quick search. As random mentioned $149 is the current price.

Was looking at these a few months ago…separate motor and included accessories make it look like a good option but poor reviews turned me off. Cheapie from Aldi has a better following

  • I've had one for a couple of years and it's excellent, easily the best vacuum sealer I've owned.

  • What's the scam here, are they selling the containers?

  • Yes it's like printers and toners …..you will buy consumables ….. But nothing immoral with that model you have options for consumables.

    I'm getting one

  • Got one also. Paid by Paypal, for insurance. Really hope it is a goer. Yes, Myer points, QFF points with Amex, another $ expenditure got free delivery.

For what its worth, I have been using an apuro vacuum sealer at work and it have been fantastic. We had a crappy food saver(?) branded one and it was absolutely terrible.

We use it daily for sending oil samples between laboratories and it's great. It's designed for catering companies, so I expect it to last.

It's on sale at the moment but rememberthe price listed excluding gst.

    • can we get more info here, sounds like a fantastic idea, and a more solid build than the other stuff. any reviews or anything on it?

      • Agreed. Commercial quality sounds good.

We use these at both labs with great success. I like that you can vacuum out the required air and seal when you want or let it vacuum and seal itself. The foodsaver one vacuumed until no more air and then sealed. Painful when trying to seal the bottom of the bag as you just want to seal. The clips stopped working so you had to hold the lid down while it vacuumed and sealed.

The apuro does look/feel a bit cheap but it's designed for commercial use, so I have high hopes. The one at the other site is almost a year old and no issues and the other is a few months old.

I believe apuro was previously buffalo branded.

We use the nesbit branded bags as well as buying boxes of rolls from I believe foodsaver site. The nesbit bags are pre cut but do work out cheaper per metre.

    • Looks exactly like the Kmart homemaker machine to me?

is it just me or does the apuro vacuum sealer pretty similar to the advancer vacuum sealer. Same power, similar styling and similar dimensions.

    • Nice find. Was sure I'd seen it rebadged back when I was looking for one of these

    • Awesome find. I think I'll get this one for home.

      • So is it pretty much the same??

        Edit
with an additional 5% off with "take5off" I'm willing to take a risk.

        • They are slightly different in the design but I'd say that internally they would be the same, like a lot of items these days manufacturers make cosmetic changes so they can sell to different companies. For the price you cant go wrong.
