This isnt really a good deal. Your kit looks like it comes with the black 1.5Ah pack, which are the bottom of the range pack. The trimmer kit has been on sale for $199 retail for years with the 4.0Ah and more recently the 5.0Ah packs - well worth the extra $50 for 3x the grunt. The most recent deal was the trimmer and blower together with 5.0Ah for $199. They've all been posted on here.

We had a $99 RYOBI deal earlier on in the year which had the trimmer + 1.5Ah from Bunnings (which I bought).

I'd advise you to look at the current Masters EGO 56V line trimmer instead. For a few more bucks, you get A LOT more bang, this thing is insanely powerful and works wonders. The Ryobi felt under powered and lackluster. Checkout the tips from this video too.

Your EGO can whip it, whip it reeeeaaaal goooood!

Yeah but this isn't your plain vanilla Ryobi… this is a Ry Boi! It runs supercharged, comes with a blow-off valve out of the box and has understated green neon lights to accentuate the curves of the tool!

    with 1.5ah Battery

WOW - that must be good for what, 68.4 seconds of operation (less if under load)?

I bet that thing really chops through the buffalo with it's 1.0mm fishing line.

    • It does my whole front and back yard on one charge.

  • No deal. Picked this up last time during the $90 deal posted above. Also got the blower at the same time just to get the bigger battery (Sold the skin on ebay).

The trimmer is not bad - happy with it at $99. If I was going to pay $150 I would look at something else.

  • Also don't waste your time and money on the ryobi line.
Just buy the replacement 3rd party bulk line.
    (1.63mm i think?)
It's not any better or worse than the ryobi line- but it's 50 metres of 3rd party line vs only 10 metres or something of ryobi line for the same price.

And you'll need it- these little things chew through a lot of line
