Target is killing it with their sales lately across almost everything.
Sorta like Dick Smith but better prices, better brands, better stock and oh, they still exist :P

    Too soon?

i've taken to pretty much only buying off target, bigw and bTb lately.

Between those 3 no one is posting up better deals lately, I was worried with EB and JB becoming the two big players it would kill the market.

As long as those 3 are sticking to their guns with how they've been lately, it's still a good time to be a gamer in aus.

      • what's btb?

Yeah they are going through a restructure atm with Kmart boss taking over and looks like they are really trying to clear old stock which is good so they can get more new stock in :)

From my time working for coles as a store manager for the liquor divisions, I can say they have some great people in the ranks that know how to run a good business.

They know that customers want good service and good quality at rock bottom prices. Give them this and you will have no trouble.

Problem is not all divisions end up with these good people sorting all that, target seems to be doing that a lot lately, i've got a local target I love going to that is very well run and a friend that run's one on the other side of the city, and things are looking good at both.

Unfortunately you then go to the city shop or some other other shops like it and its a trainwreck sending more carts into that collision and then wondering why it's crashing.

Hoping they see shops like tea tree plaza as a shining example of how to do things right, get a shop running well, good customer service, give that team the right stock and good prices on it, people will keep coming back, simple formula.

        Hope they keep doing it.

A shame they never have anything for PC any more - whats up with that?

    • +2

probably because PC has almost fully moved over to digital downloads.. remember that what this console generation was going to do as well, except there was a huge stink over not being able to sell games second hand (which hasn't been a thing on the PC for years now).

      • Re consoles: Not to mention 50GB+ downloads…
