Balcony Privacy Screen / Wall Divider

Does anyone have any ideas of balcony privacy? I'm renting and would like to screen off just one side of my balcony. I'm renting so I can't do anything permanent. Dividers are so expensive!

I'm looking at Bamboo screens at Bunnings, which are about $16 for 1.8 x 3m http://www.bunnings.com.au/eden-1-8-x-3m-euro-reed-fence-scr…

Has anyone found or done something better?

before you go out buying, ask the body corp for permission first. They may not allow it.
I wouldnt allow that cheap reed, how would you mount it anyway.

Best would be buy some good plants, say bamboo in pots. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/c1/bb/34/c1bb349a2…

    • Thanks :) A couple of the other neighbours have the Bunnings bamboo screens up so I assume that it's Ok. Should I not assume?

A You Tube video showed to attach it to the balcony with garden wire (like freezer bag twists)

Pot Plants is interesting! I kill them though :/ is bamboo killable? lol

      • Bamboo is bomb proof.

Don't assume, ask the body corp first.
The others may be in breach.

    • I love the look of the bamboo in that pic, any idea where to get cheap bamboo plants though it really seems to add up.

Try masters bunnings, but best is a commercial nursery.
Bamboo grows quick so you don't need to buy big plants, buy small and save money.

Plant some snake beans in pots, run some guiding strings along the boundary and enjoy snake beans while being private. Snake beans grow really quickly and you just keep planting them before the old vine dies. That way you have permanent coverage.

Maybe you could put on of these on a wall possibly? http://www.bunnings.com.au/pillar-products-1-6-x-3m-charcoal…

    • Thank you. I am looking for something like that. The problem is I have no brick wall to attach it to and my ground is concrete not wooden like in the photo.

    • I don't think I would be able to :/ and its a lot out of my budget. I do really like them though :) HOpefully it can help someone else?

  • Apologies for hijacking the thread.

How would I go about extending the height of this aluminium fence for privacy purposes? My ground is concrete.
