Excellent Game! The limited edition is supposed to have room for for Trails of cold steel and the sequel coming soon which is neat.

Its honestly my game of the year, its slow paced but it works so well for the game, if you own a vita… GET IT!

Dude, how did I miss this? Need some RPGs for my Vita.

  • Not sure if interested. Reviews are showing it's average, rather than "Excellent"

Everyone I know who had played it say it is excellent. There are also two guys commenting above who say the same. Japanese anime like games often do not review well with mainstream reviewers. Even so it holds a 7.7/10 on Metacritic with an 8.7 from users which are both better than 'average'.

But it/don't buy it, up to you. You might prefer Call of Duty or FIFA. Each to their own.

      • I fully respect your opinion.

For me, average is 70%+, just to be clear. Less than that and it's somewhere between rough and should-not-have-been-released.

Comments and reviews I read suggested that all of its individual parts were average. Some reviews said it was more than the sum of its parts, some reviews said less.

The common critique of negative reviews was that it was the weakest link in the series by a notable amount.

Ps: I do play rpgs. I hate cod and fifa lol

        • Cool, everyone has their own opinion. Out of interest where does your average end? Personally anything over 75% is above it to me though I use these things as a guide and prefer to take the time to follow people who I know have similar tastes to me. Like i said, they all tell me it is excellent so I'm following them and will be trying it out for myself.

        • @Where's_That_Cake:

80% is above average for me. Yeah, your methodology is good.

Getting to a time in my life where soon I'll only be playing the best few console/pc games in a year, plus whatever extra I can get in commuting with portable gaming systems. Having to be picky about what I buy as I've just gone through my games collection and decided half of them I'll never play and should therefore sell :)

        • Not taking a dig, but 70% being a pass is an unfortunately normal perspective these days, and a pretty significant issue with rating systems. This also ignores how dirty the review industry can be/is. Some of the best advice I ever read, was to read/watch a series of reviews and base your decisions on the content, not the final number, because reviews in their very nature are biased and subjective; facts are not (even though they can be presented as such).

On a related note, is it menu based combat? I know a lot of jrpgs have moved away from them over the years, but while they're not innovative, they're probably my favourite system. You can't imagine how happy I was with Bravely Default after all these funky modern systems.

Good game. Slow start but if you can get pass the first couple of chapter you should be right.

Did the Lionheart Edition Vita ever release in PAL? I know the standard version did.

    • Don't think so?

      • +1

Yeah couldn't find anything either. I grabbed one of these earlier, was just wondering. Thanks for the post :)

    • Vita is region free

  • Already bought it last night upon checking the Vita section on reddit

I own this. Still haven't played it. What's stopping me is that I haven't played Trails in the Sky or SC.

That's two big RPGs to get through first..

    • No need to play them, this is a new and different story arc.

  • Is it best to pay in USD or the Amazon converted currency?

    • Depends on what you're back charges for conversations.
