  • Are your VPS SSD? What type of iops are you seeing? Has one got any serverbear bench marks to post?
    Thanks

    • Hi Goober,

Our VPS Servers are 15k SAS, I don't believe anybody has made any serverbearr benchmarks public; I will run a test now and post the results for you.

      Tom

      • Thank you. Will be awaiting results.

        • Hi goober,

          I have run the serverbear benchmarks a couple of times now but they get an error when sending the results;

Upon investigation of this it appears serverbear is not maintained anymore by the developers, the last completed benchmark on their website is 618 days ago.

I will run some manual benchmarks for you now and post up the results later tonight.

  • "75% Recurring Discount" is shown in checkout, is this correct?

    • Hi Bohdans,

Thank you for letting me know about this, I was able to replicate the issue and it has been fixed, it is now displaying correctly as One Time Only.

      Thanks

      Tom

Your prices are fairly high considering good old Oliver @ RansomIT has better deals and quality servers - https://www.ransomit.com.au/vps

What set's you apart from the rest? DDoS protection?

Is it the fact your company is just 5 months old? http://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?SearchText=14+60…
Or that the domain is 7 months old?

I really like those fake testimonials, or are they real? The IP of each them points to the company micron21.com, so you're either reselling their services or just stole the testimonials

      Hi Athk,

All very good points you make however I feel some of your answers require additional information.

There are always going to be providers with cheaper or more expensive services in the industry (that's called competition!) and also quality of servers is definitely one this we pride ourselves on; We Only use Dell Enterprise Hardware for our fleet you can take a look at our twitter for a recent photo of some of our hardware in action ( https://twitter.com/onacloudit/status/729586043859533824 )

There is no hiding that we have only been a company since August 2015 but we all have to start somewhere right?

The testimonials are real, you are free to send them a message via their individual websites if you would like. Yes the IP address does point to an IP range that is assigned to Micron21. We also don't hide the fact we use their datacentre (and some IP addresses) to host our servers in. We are not reselling their services, we own all our own equipment. Micron21 are purely our datacentre provider.

Please let me know if you have any further questions :)

      Tom

      • Fair enough, few more questions, where did you get August 2015 from? Were you a sole trader prior?

If you have all this pride in your services, wouldn't you lease your own IP space to hide the fact you're reselling, or co-locating. As all the other providers do.

        • Yes you are correct, We were a sole trader prior to 1st January 2016.

We also do have our own IP ranges from APNIC now. 103.207.28.0/22 is one of them if you would like to check it out :)

There is also no need to hide the fact of where we host our servers; nor what hardware or software we use such as OnApp for our Cloud Platform.

          Tom

  • The options for OS template is a bit limited. No Debian nor latest Ubuntu LTS?

    • I agree with you there scotty, I will have this updated!
There should also be the option to BYO ISO.

      Tom

      • Looks like the OS templates have much improved!

Rep, did you complete the benchmarks?

        • Hi Lukian,

I did complete them here is a copy of one:

  • Pretty hard to beat Vultr, BinaryLane, DigitalOcean, etc..

    • I'm a Vultr customer now and looking to move. Vultr were / are ok but have since increased their prices and reduced their CPU clock rate. Have a look at the Vultr forum.
