I take it you havent worked for the govt. or the big corporates. Welcome to International Roast or Nescafe 43 bean (none of the beans are actually coffee).

Moccona is almost like real coffee compared to that.

      • +4

Lol.agreed. we almost had to go on strike to have it in our eba..

      • Moccona is almost like real coffee…

You really need to get out more, Tony! ;)

i take it you do work for the govt and you in fact know that international roast and or nescafe blend 43 is a part of our dietary requirements to live and if you really want to see through time you mix both in the one cup

****discretion is advised and make sure a defibrillator is already attached to your body.****

        • This^…is an advanced user right here! :)

        • blending below mediocrity

Moc is the best freeze dried on the market, though I much much prefer their dark label variety, Indulgence and the such are okay, particularly in cold coffee.

      • Their 'Rich' style is my favourite.

        • Yeah, Rich is good too… well for instant coffee lol

        • I've tried their Classic, Indulgence, Espresso and Rich.

Rich is my fave of the four.

    • I'm used to drinking the Nescafé Arabica range of instants whenever I can't use the coffee machine. How does this compare?

      • +1

Try one of their black range, like indulgence or rich. I think its quite a bit better versus anything nescafe makes

Cheapest price since at least April 2015.

I'm pretty sure they've been half price once since then…

I have had a look and couldn't find anything cheaper in the last 12 months. Do you have a source?

      • Probably a one week special at colesworth. It happens.

But if a bargain falls in a forest and no-one is around to see it, did it really happen?

          did it really happen?

          Schrödinger's bargain ??

      • Do you have a source?

        Well I remember buying one…

    • +2

Yep. These were half price about a month ago at woolworths. I bought 2.

have to say this is my best instant coffee for me.

but as above i get served dirt that the coffee plant grew in and labeled as international roast…… but if i go into another section i get barrister machine coffee and i think my bosses are on to me.

    • +1

Would that be what the solicitors drink?

      • +1

for what they charge me to photocopy 4 pages it better be liquid gold

    • You know you CAN buy your own coffee and a plunger right? It'll set you back almost nothing.

      • +1

Govt Dept worker and avid ozbargaineer… Are you nuts!?

  • terrible taste

    • +3

You're supposed to stir it into hot water

      • gahahahaha

      • thats why taste terrible

  • +1

I've had the Coles gold organic freeze dried coffee and it tasted the same to me. Made in Germany too. $4 for 100g. The Aldi Alcafe Gold is the same price and tastes the same. I think they are made in the same factory.

    • +2

I think they are made in the same factory.

Charlie and the Coffee Factory?, the one run by the famous Willy Mocha?

  • +1

I bought one to see what the craze is about. Taste is so bland, it's not something I'd buy again. Maybe the Moccona Awaken one I bought was way too smooth and bland that gave me a strong verdict. Meh.

I'm sticking with the coffee beans.

  • good find!

The best, relatively cheap and super easy solution I've found so far, is to buy reusable coffee capsules for my capsule machine, and fill one up with the ground coffee that sells for about $3 at WooLes every morning. Taste is not as good as 50c capsules, but comparable to McCafe coffee sans sugar and frothed milk. I estimate it to cost around 5c per coffee.

    • Any particular bricks-and-mortar place you get the reusable capsules?

I get by no worries on the $5-ish Melita ground coffee and the occasional pods when they are on special; your way would make it even more cost effective.

      • Ebay is the easy way. Haven't seen them in b&m

        • Cheers- you recommend any online store in particular?

        • @COR80: cheapest one. Buy at least 10

    great find, thanks OP :)

  • Yeah I remember drinking this instant stuff before this bargain came around: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/245494 … Good times

I was looking for a bargain on Moccona coffee in Woolie yesterday and it was only 20% off on a very selected range. I didn't buy any as I had hardcore OzB mode on that anything not 50% is a no deal!

  • It shows $17… Am I missing something?

    • Something is definitely wrong.

Just pickup a catelogue in store and show them if it scans at $17.

      Edit. Use link https://www.coles.com.au/catalogues-and-specials/view-all-av…

Edit. There is an error on the Coles website. Even the shop able catelogue changes the price to $17 when checking out

      • does that mean the 'Promise on Price Scanning' applies?

        "Single items
If a single item scans at a higher price than the advertised or ticketed shelf price for that item, we will give you that item FREE."

        • Would be interesting to find out. Let us know how you go trying it out :)
