What's this turning up business can't we just have it for free?

  • +6

National donut day except it's not national lol

      You have to remember that:
      1. Tasmania is not part of Australia. Source: Woolworths
      2. South Australians are too busy going to churches and there is no mention of Jesus endorsing doughnuts in the bible. Source: Bible.

      • -4

South Australians are too busy going to churches

        Not me

      • +43

I just got out of church and I saw this deal.

there is no mention of Jesus endorsing doughnuts in the bible

Jesus said "Doughnut hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. John 20:17

      • South Australians are too busy going to churches

        Huh?

      • +2

"Woolworths has lost its map of Tassie."
So Tasmania is part of Brazil now?

      • There is nothing more holy than a Donut

    • +4

      No ACT either :(

      Canberrans are people too

      • We may have been herded into the NSW category. Happens all the time. We do claim Queanbeyan as one of our unofficial suburbs though we don't really want it. I'd gladly swap Queanbeyan for a free doughnut.

        • Nah, I checked. We don't have any dedicated Krispy Kremes either I don't think, they sell them at 7-Elevens but no dedicated shops according to the website.

      • where?

  • +9

nothing in Tasmania nor South Australia.

    fffffuuuuu

  • Does anyone know when the Sydney Central Station KK will open again?

    • +4

Yeah the day after the Free Doughnut

    • I walked to Railway Square this morning and saw a Kristy Kreme truck parked there. Maybe they are setting up for this?

  • -4

Do they include the diabetes treatment costs?

    • +2

      I admire the joke

      here come the negs!

    • +8

Can you get diabetes from a single donut?

      • +12

Every donut is doing you damage

      • Yes if you are overweight

      • +1

single glazed donut = diabetes type II
        single unglazed donut = diebetter

      • +2

If you only get one dount, you are doing it wrong. In Melbourne CBD there are 2 KK shops. Get one on the way to work, one at lunch, one after work. Simples.

        • +1

You forgot morning and afternoon tea. Also, second breakfast.

  • +3

nothing is bad for you its all moderation ! and one certainly is moderation

    • +2

Many people are unable to control their consumption of foods containing sugar, fat and refined grains.

      You know, like doughnuts.

    • +3

OzBargain has an excess of moderation. Donut fear, I will use a pun to make this comment more palatable to the off-topic police mods.

  • no convenient locations in Sydney?

  • +7

I glazed over this deal as there's not a hole lot for South Aussies here.

  • Donut put the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

  • +1

We should have a national holiday for free doughnut day, we can all have BBQs and enjoy our free doughnut.

A little embarrassing to walk in the store and walking out with just one free doughnut and nothing else.

  • great.

this is an all day event?

  • +2

Is it just me or does anyone else now refuse even free KK donuts? People buy them regularly for work and even though I'm known for going crazy on free food, I refuse to eat them any more. There are just too many actually good doughnuts out there to waste calories on these ones.

    • +2

Yeah like the $2 6 pack you can get at coles.

      • I used to make donuts at coles. When they're fresh, they're exactly the same as DK. Delicious. Very easy to mess up a batch with the water to mix ratio, though

        • Is there any way to make those donuts taste delicious after they have been on the shelf for awhile? What is the best what to revive them?
The DK ones are always a bit lighter, crisper when you leave them and go back to them than the ones you get in the supermarkets.

        • @serpserpserp: refrying them might work if they're not too old. Dipping them in glaze, or any hot sugary liquid should mask the tastelessness of old donuts. You're probably better off only buying them if they've just come out of the fryer. I'd request a fresh 6 pack from Coles. You'd have to tee it up beforehand tho.

    • For me it's a treat that's cheaper than most convenient shops. If you know anywhere else I can get a better non-cake glazed donut and regular coffee for $3.50 other than 7-Eleven then you will have changed my mind

      • If I'm treating myself though I am more than happy to spend slightly more, since by definition a treat is only occasional. So a bag of fresh hot donuts from the truck at Vic Market for me is a treat, and not much more than a cup of insipid coffee and heart attack sweet fake donut. But personal preference and all that :)

    • My housemate had 3 leftover KK doughnuts on Friday and he offered me one. I think i said no thanks faster than I normally do with food products and I never usually say no to free food. I prefer Donut King or Coles/Woolies Cinnamon ones (these under the grill are even better).

    • lol waste calories. spoken like a true ozbargainer

    • The free part attracted me but only because I'd forgotten how sick they made me feel up until I stopped eating those office freebies 7 years ago. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

  • Merged from [Sydney Central Station] Free Krispy Kreme at Central Station near Priceline

Free Krispy Kreme doughnuts at the end of Central Station tunnel.

    • sorry…where?

    • +2

      Sydney…..

      • +1

Cheers. People seem to forget that most major cities have a central station. :p

        I was getting excited. :(

Will you be in Sydney CBD on Friday June 3rd? To make sure you don't miss out we'll be giving away FREE Original Glazed doughnuts at 2 locations in Sydney CBD:

In the morning we'll be at Central Station from 7am-10am. Look out for our pop-up at Henry Deane Plaza (off Lee Street) at Central Station.

In the afternoon we'll be partnering with Deliveroo to give away Original Glazed doughnuts. We'll be based at NAB House Forecourt, 255-259 George Street from 12pm-2pm.

      • I think I might have my morning coffee al fresco whilst trainspotting and eating a donut this morning, no coincidence!

    • Anyone got one yet ? Where is this central station near priceline ? Which side of the tunnel, toward station or toward George St ?
That tunnel is super long. You will finish a few doughnuts before reaching another end.

    • +1

A few confused people hanging around but no donuts😭

Locked up truck there with the kk guys hanging aroun . Must have ran out.

      • Thanks for the update. You saved me walk though the neverending tunnel. I was on my way to pick up some morning tea.
Hopefully lunchtime is more successful - I haven't had a kk for years and can't recall whether they're worth paying for or if i should stick to the cinnamon Woolies ones when they're on sale.

    • It's this one guys https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248387 already posted earlier

If your in Sydney CBD they have a story opening at Railway Square so today they are currently here with the a mobile food truck handing out free doughnuts!!!

    • would be closed by now?

  • offer is not worth the effort and cost to get a free doughnut..my nearest is either CBD (melb)or the airport

    • +1

lol, decisions, decisions. 100km round trip to Pathetic Fair KK and back, HiLux Workmate that drinks petrol like there's no tomorrow, save about $20 in fuel, or get the free doughnut… need a poll.

      • +1

I think you've just spelt it out. Forego the free doughnut!

  • Got two in Melb this morning. One from the Collins St store then went up to Swanston Street. No lines (about 8:45am), and worth the 10 min diversion!

  • There is actually a 'free donut' promotion at Krispy Kreme SA stores (yes, we do have them) - however, you need to buy a coffee to receive the free donut.

    • Isn't this a standard offer? (Wanted to confirm… don't actually drink coffee but I've heard this is the only reason why people buy the 'coffee' at KK)

  • Has anyone tried Sydney domestic? Apparently people are getting rejected saying it's only for central

  • Just went to mascot KK and got the freebee no issue.

  • +1

This is why I love ozbargain, $1 coffee from gloria jeans then i head over the road to KK and pick up a donut.. life's good

  • Went to Brisbane cbd in myer centre at 7pm. 20 ppl in the queue and it want moving. Didn't line up.
