    Large Upgrade is $1.40
    BBQ Cheeseburger $2.5 or $2.75 off my head. Don't forget most toppings on burgers apart from cheese are free, and by a cough not promoting way it's free and easy to get it up to a whopper JNR

    • So just buy a Bbq cheeseburger and ask for the lettuce, tomatoes, pickle etc?

      Any other tips and tricks ?

      • +11

        BBQ cheeseburger> Minus BBQ, Add Ketchup, Lettuce, Tomato :)
        Not really any other tips or tricks that I can think of.
        People know you can swap fries in meals for Onion Rings and Angry Onions for extra cost?

        • can you swap the burger for a veggie one?

        • +5

          @ahly92:

          if you ask nicely, then i guess so

          I always ask them to swap the Large coke for a Large Sundae :)

        • +2

          @ahly92: Only whoppers or (manager dependant)grilled chickens

        • +1

          @easternculture:
          No issues with this? I'd swap the coke for sundae too

        • +1

          @albanyson:

          Its hit and miss … probably 8/10 times they would swap it for me.

          Just might sure you ask nicely and start your order with a smile & greeting

        • +1

          Almost in the drive through…..

          Your last sentence is not clear, can you swap the fries for onion rings at no cost, with the angry onions costing extra….?
          Or do both swaps (onionrings or angry onions) cost extra to swap??

        • +1

          Extra 60c each to swap fries for onion rings or angry onions.
          Wadnt allowed to swap drink for a sundae 😕

        • @albanyson: Bugger!

        • -1

          Nope I've asked for angry onions in my burgers and got the upgrade for free.. Havent done so in the last 12 months though just havent tried.

        • +1

          Don't forget onions :)

    • +1

      hey Food, quick question re: HJ hacks. My vego wife orders a Whopper Jnr without beef and says it costs her $4 or whatever it is. Do you think most HJs be ok with her just ordering a 4" jnr bun and asking for mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, onion (assuming that's the best way to go about it). Any idea how much it would cost? Cheers!

      • +1

        Eh there's no option for buying just buns(if you want it meatless you'll have to ask for minus meat which doesn't take $ off), so unfortunately the best bet would be the meatless JNR.
        Right now the JNRs are $2.95 without cheese so better asking for one of them and saying no meat

        • Rats that would have been a great hack. Oh well, thanks for the confirmation :)

  • +4

    For those who want to do the survey and don't have a receipt HACK: click the START button repeatedly (like 20 times in a row) and then wait till it skips the verification step and u can do the survey ;)

    • +3

      i only had to press it 3 times

      • haha maybe i was bored

    • +3

      If you don't have a receipt, doing the survey has limited value - you need to write the verification code on your (non-existent) receipt at the end.

      • Not really, they never look. I always write it on the back and rip the bottom part of the receipt when i use one older than 1 month.

    • -1

      but it says

      Thank you for completing the survey. HUNGRY JACK'S® would like to invite you to come back and visit our restaurants. Do not forget to present the offer that appears in your ticket in your next visit. You must write the following code on your ticket.

      You have to show them the survey invitation from a receipt, it appears.

      • +1

        they are usually too busy to inspect the receipt

        Sometimes i do the survey on my phone while i'm waiting for the ordering line to advance and just show them the confirmation code on my phone for them to key in the system

        • +4

          Honestly, there's no need to keep the receipt on our end and if the code works on the register, you've got a free burger no matter where it's written. How ever there may be some power hungry people out there bla blah etc

        • @Food: I am worried about using a code from the hack, is it wrong or will my local HJ lose money? What about if I redeem it at a different store, how does the store get compensated? Is it better to ask for two receipts?

        • +1

          @Savas: Well.
          The answers from the survey if you input the code are well and truly read by the managers, and tell us what we need to improve on. If you did the survey normally without 'hack', it doesn't matter what store you redeem the free burger at because the store will get compensated electronomalogically.
          I guess if you use the 'hack', it's a $2.60 burger but it's ethically right to do the survey properly I guess :)

        • @Food: Oh cool, thanks so much!

        • @Food: Just used the hack and got the same code twice. [@albanyson] said he got the same codes as well.

          Normally I would do the survey legit but sometimes I don't get invited to especially when I use vouchers.

        • +1

          @Savas: Hmm odd mate. What happens on our end is a program pops up and we input the code. I know KFC's Free chips and drink is just a button (can write any 5 digit code on their receipts) so I'm out of my depth!

        • @Food: Really wow. You should post that!

  • +3

    The Hungry Jacks in Tempe didn't like or honour promotions when I visited 4 years ago.

    If I asked for lettuce on my free cheeseburger I imagine they'd sound an alarm or call the police.

  • How do you get the upgrade??

    • +1

      I think it will be with the next round of HJ vouchers

      • +1

        Ah thanks so much. You rock and I appreciate your dedication to all of the Groupon deals you post.

  • Has anybody verified that you can redeem the cheeseburger from the hack?

    • +3

      I served one literally 20mins ago, so yes

  • +1

    You can skip every part of the survey just by double clicking 'next'… Not just the voucher.

    • Confirmed works. Thanks.
      I did a survey yesterday and hot the code, did one tonight and got the same code number……???
      I recognised the number and sure enough, same code.

      • Did it start with a 7 by any chance?

        • Yes.

        • @albanyson: Now for the creepy part. Was it 70133840?

        • +1

          @Savas:
          Have you hacked my phone? Lol
          Ok, so we've established the code isn't unique.
          Wondering how often it changes, if at all?

        • @albanyson: Lol. Did the code work? Does this mean unlimited burgers for ever?

        • @albanyson: Did the code work? Does this mean unlimited burgers for ever?

        • +1

          @Savas:
          Heading down their now to check it out. Standby…….

        • @albanyson: Hahaha, good on you brave soldier.

        • @Savas:all good.
          They know the code is generic….

          60c extra for the swap fries to rings

          Not able to swap drink for sundae

        • @albanyson: Wow thanks. So did the free burger code work? Did they let you redeem it as many times as possible?

        • @albanyson: As you are probably already aware the survey codes are not supposed to be generic, so the generic code is weird if it did work?

          If you read even Food didn't know what is going on, but at KFC the codes don't matter at all but at HJ they do.

        • +1

          @Savas:
          I did again on my phone, same code.
          Girlfriend did it on her phine, same code.
          Now we're back at the HJs store complaining about the dry burgers and buns….
          And the manager is adamant now the code is NOT generic.

          Both phones on counter, my LGG4, her iphone6, both same code.

          Manager is not a happy guy and refusing the 2 burgers…..

        • @albanyson: & maybe they'll now change the code or refuse everyone who uses that generic code

        • @albanyson: Mate I investigated and they happily accepted 70133840. Just did survey again using hack and got same code.

          The next thing I am interested in if the other codes you get from doing the survey properly whether they are generic.

        • +1

          @Savas:
          We both did the surgery properly…..we thought the codes would be unique.
          I did one and the wife did one and we filled it out properly and you got the same code also…..

          Also you can add he lettuce, tomato, pickle to the free cheese burger too.

        • @albanyson: Interesting. When you did the survey properly did you also enter different unique survey codes at the beginning?

          Just tried with two receipts and got different cheeseburger validation codes.

          Thanks mate!

        • +1

          @Savas:
          Just did it now and same number…..

          And I did it properly.

        • @albanyson: Really interesting. Does HJ honour them?

        • +1

          @Savas: they did just now…..

        • +1

          @Savas:
          They stopped accepting the generic code now. Said it must be unique. And claim that code has already been redeemed.
          Not sure what's going on there…..

        • @albanyson: Interesting mate. Thanks for letting me know! Was going to go back tonight and redeem again, so much for my plan.

        • +1

          @Savas:
          Any update on the free large upgrade?

          Did you get anything?

        • @albanyson: Just did survey again using hack and it spewed that code again!

        • @albanyson: Something I did find out is not to search on Bing to find the website

          http://imgur.com/RTmekmQ

        • +1

          @Savas:
          That's classic. HJ going large…..

        • +1

          @Savas: Oops :0

        • -2

          @albanyson: Why would you tell them the code isn't unique. Or did they notice it themselves?

        • +1

          @Sage:
          We didn't even notice.
          GF did survey in her phine, I did survey on my phone.
          One an iphone, other Android, one with Telstra other with virgin networks.
          We gave one survey code….went to give the other, the guy picked up on them both being the same code.
          It was then the compare between both phones.
          Refreshed pages and noted that same.

        • @Savas: I think what happens is the code is based on what answers you give in the survey. Change your answers and see if you get a different code.

        • @realfancyman: Nah mate. I always get different codes, Food has said that the store manager individually looks through each survey. However I get the same code from when I do the survey with the hack.

          Do you have any experience?

        • +2

          @Savas:

          Food has said that the store manager individually

          Yeah they get a email from every response sent to the shift manager's and district manager's email. It really helps us; like a customer recommended a mirror to see cars as turning out of the DT have a huge blindspot.

        • +1

          @Food: Yeah HJ management is the best! Don't really have anything to complain about when I do them. Probably a coinicidence but once I said I liked the newspaper selection, the next day and since there was 20 newspapers on the stand. Newspapers are pretty popular at my local store with all the old people in the area.

  • +3

    Just got the HJ email for the new set of vouchers. Can't see any reference to the free meal upgrade (either on the email, "Exclusive Deals" page on the website or the actual voucher).

    • +1

      Same. I was just about to follow up with a question here about that.
      I've just got the email from HJs and no free upgrade voucher.

  • Any updates on how to get the free large upgrade?

  • +1
    Merged from Hungry Jack's Large Upgrade Starts 7th June

    Contacted HJ about the offer and apparently it starts 7th June if anyone is concerned. It also has conditions.

    http://imgur.com/AGdW2EE

    • What large upgrade?

      • +1

        NVM now that the posts are merged. :)

    • +1

      Latest vouchers expire 20 June.
      Small bit of overlap there, have to check Ts & Cs to see if they stack.

    • +1

      I have low expectations and appreciate all the freebies, no matter the value.

      So, we can buy a small meal and upgrade to a large meal?
      (I won't be disappointed if the answer is yes.) :)

  • the survey one is rubbish. it says to redeem it you have to write it on the voucher next to where it says "get a free burger from doing the survey". How can we do that if we don't have the receipt?
    Sure, we can do the survey without the receipt, but it doesn't look like we can redeem the voucher. Which is of course the whole point.

    • This isn't always enforced. If you just show them the code on your phone they will usually accept it.

  • Buy a medium and upgrade to large for free, when you can buy a small and also upgrade to large for free. LOL. Why would you bother getting medium.
