ANZ Money Manager to Close

ANZ Bank Money Manger is to close on July 31. It has been a great place to check the balances of your accounts in one place inc flybuys and credit cards. Problem is that it has been free to use and I guess ANZ is looking at the profit capabilities of there offerings and those not being deemed to be profitable are out.

Sorry to see it go. While you didn't need to be a customer I did have some loyalty (I said some) to ANZ for providing this service. Guess I don't need to feel the love any more. And it will be one less account to check

Important announcement
Discontinuation of ANZ MoneyManager service in July 2016
The way our customers are choosing to manage their personal finances online is changing, and as a result, we have seen a continuing decline in the use of the ANZ MoneyManager tool.
ANZ will no longer be providing this service and we are no longer accepting new registrations. After 31st July 2016 existing ANZ MoneyManager customers will not be able to access or login to ANZ MoneyManager.
It's important that you review, export and save any information that is currently stored within your ANZ MoneyManager account before 31st July 2016 to avoid losing this information when this service is no longer available.

I'm with Westpac and with their online banking there is an extra ?addon called portfolio manager where you can add all your your logins from your other banks and credit cards to view in the one place. Even has QFF account. It used to be a bit buggy, but seems to going ok in the last few months.

    • Is this a free add on or is there a cost involved?

      • It is a free add on. Puts a digital safe on the computer.

    • Where do I find this addon?

      • Login to your Westpac online banking account from a webpage.

The link to add external accounts is here screenshot

Dam I like ANZ MM. Very useful for a simple cash flow or expense analysis. How expensive can it be to run? Sigh.

    What alternatives are out there?

    • I'm trying out the free version of MoneyBrilliant, but it doesn't allow you to add investment accounts, there's no transaction splitting, and manual transactions aren't incorporated into the cashflow analysis, so I'm not loving it at this stage. It's the best free service I've found though (apart from ANZ MoneyManager).

Can you recommend another tool I can use?

Unfortunately we are unable to recommend any non-ANZ products.

      Thanks for nothing ANZ!

hey guys, want to reach out to help those that are left stranded. I'm from Pocketbook a similar service for Australians used by over 200,000 Aussies. Let me know if we can help!

    • Hi Bosco! I love your product, been using it since early this year and it's great!

Honestly the only thing missing is credit card and other non-banking institutions. Keep up the good work!

      • Dogiie, as far as Pocketbook is concerned, you can add credits cards like Amex manually and update by importing data files, but in my experience while the data imports ok it disappears again after some time. Also some accounts within banks fail to load. No help available that I have been able to access.

        maybe you'll have better luck.

        Richard.

    • Thanks, Bosco. I'd love to use Pocketbook, but I have a 28Degrees Mastercard which I use for a good portion of my spending. Are you expecting to have data feeds from non-bank credit cards like 28Degrees available soon?

    • Hi Bosco, any plans to support American Express?

Dont think i've seen it in the vote list…

Thanks guys, we will look to add all these at some point.

    • I am worried about giving my banking password to a third party app developer. What if your database gets hacked ?

    • How securely does pocketbook store bank logins? Seems pretty risky….

  • Isn't there something in the bank's terms about disclosing your login to third parties? How would this work?
