  • Is the max discount ever more that $50?

    • I don't recall seeing more than $50, are people buying things off Groupon expensive enough that they would exceed the $50 max discount?

        • That is (1) no longer available (2) in the travel category, 15% is for local only

          I was wondering if people are buying things off Groupon that would exceed the discount amount, not if you can find something that would, I'm sure you can do the later :)

        • @hamza23: I know that, but it comes in and out of being available. I have been thinking of buying it, do you think it is decent? I didn't realise even though it is local that it wouldn't apply anyway.

          @Savas:

          It seems pretty decent yeah, probably better people to ask though. If it comes in and out of available then it shouldn't be long before a travel or sitewide code becomes available. If it's not an app only code then there is cashback also (9% if you have a Pricepal founder account, if you can combine that with even a 10% code it will be a good saving).

          Try calling the resort first thought and tell them what you want and making sure they can't beat Groupon (unlikely, especially after a code discount but worth a try). Not sure if you can search elsewhere for the same package options on travel websites also.

        • @hamza23: Thanks a lot, that is appreciated.

        • @hamza23: How do you get the 9% off/founder account? Also I am still not sure I trust cashback sites, why do they give you money?

          @Savas:

          The 9% founder account isn't available anymore, some members had them from years ago or from this deal. You can still get 5% back from cashrewards instead.

          Good page on cashback here and/or watch this Cashrewards video that explains it better than I can.

          Basically stores pay Cashrewards/Pricepal affiliate income to bring customers/sales, they then pass on part of that commission to you. If you are going to purchase something anyway you may as well use them and get the cashback. Of course the idea for stores is that cashback sites attract new customers/sales, not just people that were going to purchase anyway.

        • @hamza23: Darn it, if only I joined a month earlier.

  • What the hell is Sokonomiyaki, has anyone tried it?

    • +1

      Sorry, typo. Samurai Okonomiyaki is the name of the place, okonomiyaki is the name of the Japanese pizza. Image here, Japanese grilled pizza, haven't tried it myself.

        it's more like an omelette rather than a pizza (there's no dough). it's bloody delicious!

    Thanks Hamza for listing the good deals with the discount.

    Doesn't seem to be anything good for Perth
