Wilson Pro Staff RF97 Autograph Racquet $179.95 Inc. Delivery @ Tennisonly.com.au

Seems like the folks at Tennis Only got tired of price matching the deal from Rebel Sports and put their own stock on sale too. Great stick for an intermediate player looking for control and feel. Now if only they put their Babolat Pure Drives on sale….

what would you recommend for a middle aged beginner/used to be intermediate, who plays a couple of times a year but still wants to show off a nice racquet? (without paying $180)

    cheers

The problem with your game is the fact you need to restring racquets much like guitars to keep them useful. A cheap, but freshly strung racquet will perform better than an expensive neglected one.

      • Thanks. But I've never actually considered getting my racquet restrung. I have seen the machine that does it, at the gym.

No one here can make an objective recommendation without knowing your stroke and play style, and at the end of the day it just comes down to the feel of the racquet. Do make sure to demo a racquet before any purchase. Here's a good vid that explains the characteristics of different racquets www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iu9yJ85f5o0

My stroke style is fairly random. My play style - angry.

But I do appreciate the comments. I will watch the clip. Cheers ploopster.
