      But I can't update the post above to be able to justify if this is a bargain or not.

      Seems to be only a $2 saving on what Myer are selling it for… and if you buy it here, you don't get the Myer One points.

        You're right - Myer and a lot of other stores have now lowered their prices to match. Really great vacuum btw, after a week of usage.

  I wonder whether they have redesigned the wheels on the power head for the DC65. The old models were terrible for wearing out quickly.

    Only ever so slightly but to be fair this model is older now itself, I have yet to see the ones on the big ball upright models if they will be released here.

  i think it retailed at 899 (original price- dyson sells it for 799), but this is the older technology. i'm pretty sure the new one (DC50) has the 2 tier cyclone feature.

  dc50 is meant to be more efficient (less powerful) and more compact. dc65 had a bigger dust bin and a longer chord.

    DC65 still has stronger performance due to bigger motorhead and power in the motor But yes you are correct about DC50.
