It's been out for 6 months and has zero reviews. Why should I pay for it ?

    • Hasn't had enough exposure. I will get reviews when more people buy and hopefully they leave a review. I am a single developer with very limited resources and havn't been able to spend much on marketing.

Why not give away some free copies here in exchange for a promise for an honest review ??

I'm pretty sure OzBargainers will keep their word and post a review if asked.

It won't cost you anything to give away some copies, especially if these people wouldn't have bought a product without any good reviews or recommendations…

    Air Pong Now 99c

It's been out for 2.5 years and has one review (quite likely a sockpuppet). Why should I pay for it ?

  • I never requested anyone to leave a review. Someone possibly a friend might of left that. I did promote this app on Facebook. I am sorry if its a sockpuppet review. There is nothing I can do to remove it.

      Whether it's you or a friend doesn't really matter…

If you've had a an app out there for a couple of years, then suddenly a review appears that make it sound like it's the best app ever, and you get no other reviews for months later, makes is sound very suss

As I suggested, you should look offering some free copies so people can use it and get some genuine reviews. Then people will know what they are buying…

If you want to promote your apps, you really should change the price to "free" for a day or two.
When I had a paid app on itunes, I was getting 2000-3000 downloads and lots of new reviews on the days when I was giving it away for free.

and how is Minecraft going these days doperst ???

    • Is it too late to do that? I had a free app and it got about 200 downloads within 2 weeks of launch than hardly any downloads. How do I get a lot more downloads and encourage reviews?

      • You can offer free download codes and ask people to leave a review.

      • I think the app needs to be paid for a while, then you make it free for 1-2 days. There are lots of websites that track paid apps that temporary gone free.
I'm not 100% sure, but it worked for me :) I did this once or twice a year and every time was getting a huge boost in downloads and a quite a few people were buying my game in the following few days after the promotion.
