    Good price. for RH Toaster

    • +1

      lol

      • Yeah they're worth $20 but no way $99. Have a RH kettle the wife paid a stupid amount for. No better than a $20 one really.

        • +1

          RH toasters and kettles? What has happened to the world? How do the world's lefties feel about this discrimination? Where's Ned Flanders when you need him?

    • +3

      im happy with my toaster which was only a few bucks from target a few years ago.

      but Metallics is one of my favourite bands - if its endorsed by them then all I can say is:

    Let's read some reviews…

    Next too useless

    • aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddddddddddd I see why it's so cheap

      • I forgot to add…

        Worst toaster I have ever owned

        • Looks like an entirely different product to me. Incidentally we have two of the toasters in the linked review in the family - beautiful electric blue. Runout products iirc. Both work brilliantly and have given zero problems. Just shows tgoya.

        • @Possumbly:

          Looks like an entirely different product to me.

          It's this one…

    • +2

      have you checked the reviews of ozbargain on that website.

      I have my doubts about that sight.

      I suspect this toaster is as good if not better than a cheapie $20 from targ-mart.

    • +1

      Let's read some reviews…

      Reviews are of different model RHMT2, rather than this RHT22PRL.

      • -1

        Same as this one…

        http://www.productreview.com.au/p/russell-hobbs-metallics-2-…

        reviews look exactly the same

        • +1

          Still not this model…

        • -4

          @Infidel:

          yes it is… same one, look at the pic.

          each store will have a different 'exclusive' number….

        • +2

          @jv:
          That the RHT24, not the RHT22.

          The RHT22 (followed by colour code) is sold in various outlets in Australia & NZ, including HN under that code.

          Nothing to do with your imagined 'exclusive' number….

        • -1

          @Infidel:

          That the RHT24, not the RHT22.

          reviews are the same…

        • +2

          @jv:
          So, show the reviews for the RHT22! Different model. I couldn't find reviews for this model, so how are reviews for different models the same?

        • +3

          @jv:
          You're repeating yourself like a politician tying to sell an unworkable policy. Same review for wrong model RHT24!

          But I wouldn't use any of these RH toasters - RH have a bad reputation.

      • -1

        It's the same model.

        The just change the model number for each store so they don't have to price match.

        Officeworks does similar things with manufacturers with their 'exclusive' model numbers…

        • +3

          Not in this case - the RHT24 & RHT22 are different models, and different to the older RHMT2 you posted review of. You just can't make things up to support your case!

          The just change the model number for each store so they don't have to price match.

          This model is sold in other stores like HN under this RHT22 model code, with only the colour code varying.

          eg HN has RHT22POL, with colour code POL for POLished chrome version. RHT22RED is the Red version at HN. But the model number RHT22 remains the same.

        • +2

          It's a different model. The RHT22 is a 2 slice toaster http://au.russellhobbs.com/pdf/rht22blk-heritage-toaster-man… The RHT24 is a 4 slice toaster
          http://au.russellhobbs.com/pdf/rht24-heritage-toaster-hero.p…

          Also the 4 slice is apparently a hero. They shouldn't have to price match a 4 slice toaster with a 2 slice toaster.

        • +1

          It's hard to tell which toaster people are trying to review though, as they have combined them.

    • +4

      This one cracked me up:

      "A bigger piece of rubbish I have never bought.
      I would rather use a campfire than this insult to technology."

      • +1

        I would rather use a campfire

        I hope my kids don't read that comment before breakfast tomorrow morning…

    • That site is where people go to complain about products. The ratings there are really not reliable unless you take into consideration how the rating compares across the board. E.g. a 2 out of 5 star rating might be the best in category, therefore the product is probably decent.

      • That site is where people go to complain about products.

        it does not appear that way to me…

        http://www.productreview.com.au/p/russell-hobbs-metallics-2-…

        • +1

          Lol jv. Inconsistency

        • @Gimli:

          it proves that not everyone goes there to complain…

        • +1

          @jv:

          Ah yes..

          Very good research. Jv

        • +1

          @Gimli:

          thanks.

        • @jv:

          You are welcome

        • @jv: Kind of obvious I didn't mean 100% of people go there to complain. Implicit.

  • Pretty cheap!

    • yah mun

      cheap cheap lah

  • +4

    Harris scarfe RRP can be misleading, to get a more accurate value, half it, then half it again.

    • +1

      Gerry is selling the toaster for $99.

      • That's cos Gerry doubles the street price to arrive at a sell price, unless the wholesaler compensates him in reducing it.

  • +1

    Russel Hobbs is not a very good brand in my opinion. I had a kettle of this brand, which looked great in the photos, but turned out to be plastic rubbish. Only good thing was that it had a two year warranty, allowing me to return it after the lid broke.

    I also bought a Russel Hobbs sandwich press at Target many years ago. When I unpacked it, it was branded "homemaker" (Target's home brand), but the model was the same as on the box. Turns out they are the same, and someone accidentally put one with the wrong branding in the RH box.

    Looks like this brand takes cheap stuff and puts their badge on it.

  • For those interested in buying something bad, other models are in stock

    But seriously, check the reviews. They are shocking.

    OP: maybe change the URL to one of the models which is actually in stock online?

  • I have the 4 slice version of this toaster. After about 2 years, the RH lever spring became weak, and the LH section when activated would trip the RCD. Had no dramas with Spectrum Brands (Russell Hobbs) replacing the toaster under ACL. I guess we'll see how the replacement one goes…

  • Sold out online. As OP found, store price was be same, if local store has stock.

  • +6

    Not quite the $6000 toaster I was after but it'll have to do :)

    • I came in here hoping to find a $6000 toaster comment.
      Glad to see I was not disappointed!

  • I hate Russel Hobbs, rubbish products. Just read the reviews. I had a blender from them that burntout in 6 months. Other Philips blender still running since 5 years

    I would avoid this even if cheap

  • Gotta love HS.

    They have their RRP's at 100-500% higher then normal prices at other stores. Then "discount" everything by 50%….

  • It's amazing how bad mainstream toasters are, especially considered they are such an old invention.

    And don't try fixing one, it is either faulty by design or faulty by design- and worse, designed NOT to be fixed even by the most determined electronics engineer.

    I guess the ultimate endpoint will be to have us roasting toast over hot coals that they can sell us for maximum $$ with minimal human input.

  • I'm still using a classic Sunbeam Radiant Control Toastermatic Model AT-40 bought by my parents in the 60's :-)

    Only repaired it once in 50+ years - quite easy. "Sunbeam Radiant Control toasters were made to last a lifetime. It's not unusual at all to find one that has been in daily service for 50 years and is still going strong."

    Automatically lowers & raises the bread. Still impressive looking in shiny chrome with black trim.
