How long is the coupon offer valid for?

Can't buy for a few days so I get inside my two month overseas travel window for gst claim back.

    • Hello, it is valid until 10th June so you should be fine.

you won't be able to claim gst. This is a grey import.

      • No gst? Bugger.

  • +2

You also will NOT be able to claim the free Gear VR because it is grey import.

  • Also this may attract import tax? Last time I purchased, invoice states full amount.

I don't get why they don't make the starting price $999 rather than $1,021.99.
For those concerned about customs - I asked last time will this be subject to GST at customs since over $1,000 (since the coupon shows as a payment rather than a discount) and they advised "I can confirm that if the price is under $1000 GST will not be included in the invoice. Please let us know if you require an invoice after purchasing your product".

I don't want to say bad thing about them as have good experiences from Kogan but doesn't seem worth possibly bending the rules just to make an extra $22 from the sale.

  • Does this have all the au bands? 700mhz?

  • If you don't want the edge version, go with the normal one, it's 697 after applying the code, still a good deal I think.

  • Been waiting for another sale below $850 for this phone. $817 is an awesome price for the S7 Edge. Thanks so much OP!

    • Be careful because, as the posts above mention, you'll be paying about $100 GST on this when it arrives.

  • Kogan is an Australian supplier (even though the item is located in Hong Kong). So GST would already be included in the price. I thought the above comment was about reporting GST on the receipt to claim it back as per Jesseboy89's original comment.

    • When you read the bottom of the description it says the item is provided by Kogan HK, when you purchased it did it include GST in the price?

  • No tax is charged, no GST is claimable

But How much was it ? I've bought a number of phones from them too, but they were all under $1000. So obviously no additional tax/duty.
The import tax is only applicable for goods worth over $1000.

      • Had a quick online chat with Kogan few minutes back. This is what they told me: (I have only put the excerpts related to tax)

Me : What is listed as the final price in your invoice ? Is it the price before the discount or with it ?
Kogan : The discounted price will appear on the invoice, along with the original price. It will be indicated as discounted, so you will know the difference.

Me: Do I have to pay additional taxes/duty for this item since its original price is over $1000 ?
Kogan: Well, if it's over $1000, you will have to. However if you're applying the discount and it may go below $1000 there won't be any GST to pay. You'll be issued a Commercial invoice as opposed to a tax invoice.

Me: The reason why I’m asking is because I have previously bought products from other retailers with similar type of eBay promotions but they always list the original price before the discount in their invoices (and most of the time no mention of the discount). So I just want to make sure that you list the discount and the final price after the discount in your invoice, so that I don't have to pay additional tax at customs.
Kogan: Of course, I have confirmed this information. The invoice will list both the discount price and the original amount. It's okay, usually if it's below $1000 you won't have to pay any extra amount.

  • it is annoying that they dont tell you the model number

  • After cashrewards 1.25% cashback will be $804.22, too bad we can't apply groupon ebay voucher on top.

  • Get a good case for it..or some good insurance. I've got an S6 Edge and while it's a great phone, I broke the screen after a small drop. Everyone I've asked wants silly money to replace it too.
